Agreed. Jay was great before I placed an order but he has been even better when I needed to exchange the pants I ordered due to my errors in measuring. He was very patient with my questioning and very knowledgeable (if I had taken his advice I wouldn't have had to exchange my order.) I can't say enough good things about the guy and this was just one order.

I think we should create "praise Jay" thread, since one third of this thread is compliments on him.
But seriously, this is how great the guy is. This is one of the few places where you feel satisfied just because of the customer service.

How's your pair of Grand Indigos coming along? The latest pics I saw were on the facebook page. Any additional stretching? I'm debating between those or a pair of the Japan Blue x Momotaro GTBs that my brother got. Or any idea when a restock of the 0701 Vintage would happen? Looking for a size 30 in those. Thanks in advance!

My pair is looking, but I haven't been giving daily wear right now. It is just too sunny and nice to wear such a dark denim everyday, but come fall they will get 6-9 months of daily abuse. No additional stretching. I soaked and they shrank a bit and then stretched to 2" larger than tag size. 2 months in they have stayed right there and I don't expect any further stretch. I do wear a pretty sturdy belt.

0701 may have shipped today, but it is a holiday in Japan next week so if they didn't go out we are 3 weeks away from getting them.

The Japan Blue are incredible for the price. $200 is a great value for that denim. I really feel they should price around $250. I am getting a pair of the 0100sp as soon as I get around to it and will split time with my GIs.

Hey Jay, I remember seeing one of your posts in another thread about this but have been scouring through the N&F thread without any luck. How do the new N&F LHT Weird Guys size compared to normal WGs, say the black selvedge? I wear a 30 in the black selvedge WGs; what would you recommend I go with for the LHTs?

29 WG LHT. They run 3" larger in the waist compared to tag size. Black Selvedge WG run 2" larger in the waist compared to tag size.

Kicking Mule Workshop Fall 2011 Deliveries: 1980 Raw Indigo


Back in stock! Our recent delivery from KMW brings us the 1980 "Left Hand Twill" slim straight denim. The fabric is a 13.75oz left hand twill made with 100% Zimbabwe cotton, rope dyed with natural indigo, and custom made by denim artisans in Okayama, Japan.

Left hand twill, also known as "s twill", is a weave in which the grain line runs from the top-left hand corner of the fabric to the bottom right which is the opposite of right hand twill. It was originally used by Lee denim as its basic denim and now used in many premium denim companies such as 45rpm, Lee Japan, and Kicking Mule Workshop. Left hand twill tends to wear down softer than right hand twill and thus a softer hand feel after washing. Left hand twill will also have different wear patterns as the fabric can emphasize streakiness or vertical fading.

KMW's English Saddle leather belt with hand-forged brass buckle are hand-crafted by Japanese artisans. The leather originates in the USA as cowhide and is hand selected for its unique qualities and characters. Then is shipped to Japan where artisans use ancient methods of hand dipping, sun drying, and vegetable tanning. Fish oil is added during the tanning process, a very old Japanese technique for finishing leather.
