Today we're bringing you the second of Japan Blue's new denim: The 16.5oz Monster selvedge! This heavy-weight, slubby denim has great character, and even greater details. The leather patch on the back is made by none other than Tanner Goods in Portland, Oregon. An important difference to note between these two denim is that the skinny fit is unsanforized, while the tapered is sanforized. The skinny was made primarily for the Asian market, where more traditional fabrics are favored. While we would have preferred the tapered fit follow suit, Japan Blue decided that markets abroad would rather have sanforized fabrics. The irregular weave of the denim can still be seen in the weft of the tapered, but the surface is not as bumpy and fuzzy. Of course, both of the fabrics are still amazing heavy-weight denim that would be perfect for the coming season!
...

Hi Jay, Does Japan Blue Denim plan to release the same jeans, but in "tight straight" style, sanforized? Something like 0701?
Thanks!

Well... When trying the shirt on, you have three options on where your head will pop out, being it one of the sleeves or just trough the neck opening. First option takes a lot of effort though...

On a more serious note... I don't have any idea. Would like to know it too.

Hey Jay, in the market for another tapered fit from Momotaro.  Anything in the pipeline?  Deep indigo?

Bom-006T is coming, I think in about 6 weeks.

Anyone got faded fit pictures of the older runs?

I asked this question on the Momotaro Thread and got no response...perhaps some luck here.

Any info on whether Momotaro will produce 0202BR?

I'm not 100% clear on this, but as I've read the "End" in a warp knit fabric is a thread of yarn. Each knitting needle has its own end, meaning that The West is Dead french terry is made on a 3 needle knitting machine. If you'd like a more specific answer feel free to email The West is Dead. Here is an article about warp knitting if you'd like to come to your own conclusions:

Currently there are no specific plans to make anything else in the "Tapered" fit that Momotaro has come out with. However, we do foresee it being used again in the future. As someone else mentioned, the BOM006-T (collaboration tapered fit) will be re-released later this month.

Momotaro doesn't have any plans to make the brown weft in another fit.

They are both amazing unsanforized denim. If the small difference in price isn't an issue to you, just go with the one that will be a better fit. Neither will disappoint.

We recently received a shipment from Tanner Goods with a ton of new bags. The first on our list announce is the new model of the duffle, and a new color for Blue Owl. The Nomad Duffle is designed to be a versatile, yet rugged piece of luggage that is just as comfortable outdoors as in an overhead compartment. The bag can be carried be hand or worn as a backpack to suit whatever traveling needs you may have. We now carry the duffle in both Field Tan and Charcoal. The new version has introduced a removable leather shoulder strap, which makes it even more portable and convenient.

The interior is wool felt with Horween Chromexcel leather lined pockets.

The bag itself is made of a hefty 18 oz filter twill canvas, solid brass rivets, button studs, and buckles, and two heavyweight leather handles that can double as backpack straps. The side pockets are large enough to hold an iPad comfortably!

1034086

Both the canvas and leather are amazing colors that will age well. All the hardware is solid brass.

The body can be expanded by un-snapping the leather fasteners on the side, making the bag even roomier than it already is.

Here is the second installment of our three posts on new Tanner Bags, the Everyday Tote. This solid, heavy-weight bag is among the best totes we've ever seen. The material is the same as used in the Nomad Duffle: 18oz waxed twill canvas, Horween Chromexcel leather, and solid brass hardware. There are three large outer pockets, and one large inner pocket, not to mention the enormous main compartment. This bag is perfect for school, work, a weekend get-away, a trip the the farmer's market, and everywhere inbetween.

1034091

The two thick leather straps come with a removable clasp to hold them together. The top of the bag has a very smooth zipper closure.

1034092

The inside of the bag is spacious, with a single large pocket on one side for smaller items. The bag will comfortably carry anything you throw at it.

1034093

The Horween Chromexcel leather used on this bag is some of the highest quality in the industry. Very supple, very strong, and will age beautifully.

1034094

The leather straps are length-adjustable, making it comfortable to both put on your shoulder and hold at your side.

@ Jay:

Man, those bags look great.

Anyway... You stated Momotaro isn't planning to release another brown weft model. Is this for now, or are they never going to release it? Reason for me asking, isthat the 0202 came out some time after the 0702. I would have assumed they would take a similar approach with the brown weft, because the 07 and 02 fits are the most popular cuts the brand sells.
