I'm going to spring for a new pair from Jay based mostly on fit this time. Narrowed it down to three:

- Japan Blue JB0401
- Eternal 883
- 3sixteen SL-100x

The JBs and 3sixteens seem to have a cleaner look that makes them dressier. The Eternals look slubbier and more vintage.

Anyone have input or experience with any of the above?

I tried on the 3sixteen recently and loved how they fit. The SL or ST is my next pair of denim

I have the JB401, and it's my go to jean.  I really like the taper and the material.  The fades have been coming in pretty fast too.

I would also look at the Baldwin Henley if you are looking at the 3sixteen. Great pair of denim

Finally received my BOM005's for my bday (thx bro!)

Fantastic fit, love the tapered look. The denim itself is bleeding like a mofo, even compared to my pbj's or other deep indigo denim from n&f. Does anyone have any fade pics up yet?

Anyhow off to get them hemmed now.

I ended up deciding on the Eternal 883 (altho they were the most expensive), mostly because they were more different than what I have now.  But the JB's and the 3sixteens are still on my list because of your endorsements.

I have a pair of the Baldwin Reed rinsed tobacco jeans and love them.  I looked at the measurements of the Baldwin indigo denim and none of them seemed like they would fit like I wanted --- too skinny.

I am also intrigued by this collab and it might be my next buy.

The indigo bleeding reminds me of Nudie. Mine is in rotation with a few other pairs, so fading is going to be extremely slow.

I had the same questions before I ordered mine. Jay said that he's had multiple people have them shrink at least a size. Haven't washed or soaked mine. Just wore them as soon as I got them.

There may be different models that Brandon was referring, but the collab I have is unsanforized and will shrink 1 tag size and 1" in the inseam length.

Ordered Saturday. Received today. Quick email reply to my questions. Really great service (and on a small order). Thanks Jay!

Received my Eternal 883s yesterday.  Beautiful slubby, uneven texture gives it great character.  Fit is good. There's one thing that bothers me but I learned something from this experience.

The left leg twists around such that the selvedge seam is almost at the front, laying on top of the laces of my boots.  Since I cuff them, the white selvedge looks quite odd at the front of my leg.  I checked with Jay and I learned that this twisting is often to be expected with unsanforized denim.  All of my "higher-end" denim is sanforized so I had not experienced this before.  I think I remember someone posting way back when that they actually liked the twisting.  I personally don't, but I had them hemmed otherwise I would have returned them and asked Jay to see if he could find another pair without the twisting.

I'm working on my 702s now so they will sit in my closet for awhile. I'll probably wash them in the fall to get the rest of the shrinkage out (they are one-wash unsanforized) and then have them hemmed further so I don't have to cuff them.  A learning experience...
