I see how the sale question can be offensive, because I think there should be an economic understanding that BOW, or any of the boutiques on SF for that matter, is not some large department store that can slash prices in order to get buyers. Plus, for the service that Jay provides, we should be more than willing to pay a price that maybe "higher" than what someone might offer (though, I don't know how much cheaper you would be able to get some of these pieces). We're contributing to his store, and thus how he makes his living. I will speak for myself, stand on my hipster soap box, and say we should be supporting these self-owned-mom-and-pops-stores.

He does do the bow points which is very nice and something he doesn't have to offer.

100% agree.

Blue Owl is the kind of store I prefer to give business to and in return I earn BOW points, and hey when Jay does have an insider sale like he did during the holidays, I will give him more of my money!

I think some of you guys are taking the sale thing a little personally. I'm more than willing to pay full price for many of the things Jay offers, especially the ones that can't be found elsewhere in NA. That said, he used to do several sales a year, at least on here. Maybe he doesn't need to these days, maybe he's just busy and hasn't thought about it. Who knows. But, I don't think it's out of the realm of reality for someone to ask about a sale. I'm at the point where I only buy the few things for which I'm willing to pay full price, but I don't turn down a good sale.

I forgot about my BOW points when I ordered today, so I guess I'll save them for something else!

It's not so much I'm taking it personally, as it just comes across as socially unaware. Would you go into a store, go to the store owner and ask, "Hey, when are you going to have a sale? I'll wait till then." I can't say many of us would. Sales are great, I'm all for buying at a discount. But let's understand that BOW is not making millions; he's gotta cover costs, and then have some money to put food on the table and live a baller life.

This is what I was trying to get at. Add into that that OP had a post count of around 5 total, and the way it comes off leaves a bad taste in one's mouth.

Anyways, moving on.

Praising Jay's customer service, sent him a PM about processing a return and he replied in no time. Now I just have to decide what I'm going to get with the 200 dollars of store credit when that time comes. There's too many choices!

+1.  Also he'll hem your brand-spanking-new jeans for free if you email him at the time of purchase.

We never do open sales. All sales are closed and exclusive to our existing customer base.

Rather doing sales like we did a few years ago, I developed the BOW points rewards system and also closed sales to the public. Both of these programs are not advertised at this time, you only find out about them after you make a purchase and become an existing customer. So for those really curious about a sale, make a purchase and then you will be rewarded in the future.
