Perfect, for a very small man or a skinny woman.

At this stage, I am tossing up between the size 31 and 32. So you can see how well the size 28 fit.

Damn, based on those measurements it's even tight for me. And I'm a very small guy.
According to Blue Owl the measurements are:

"Size 28 (29.5" waist, 8.5" rise, 10" thigh, 7.1" knee, 38.5" inseam, 6.5" leg opening)"

for anyone else interested.

And just for reference for you I'm a 120 pound guy at 5' 4". I find the Momotaro tapered fit to be the minimum I can comfortable fit into: Size 29 (31" waist, 10" rise, 11.5" thigh, 8.15" knee, 36" inseam, 7.15" leg opening). So those are SMALL haha.

Yep, they are tiny. I am 5' 9" and 145 pounds, so you can start to see the problem.

I am looking at one of the following:

Size 31 (32.5" waist, 9" rise, 11" thigh, 8.2" knee, 38.5" inseam, 7.4" leg opening)
Size 32 (33.5" waist, 9" rise, 11.25" thigh, 8.4" knee, 38.5" inseam, 7.6" leg opening)

I could just, just, get the button done up on a size 31, and that is assuming the thigh and knee are big enough.

I could definitely button the size 32 quite comfortably, except I don't want the jeans to be baggy or loose, which I am fearing they might be.

Thanks for the super-fast exchange, Jay.

Sent my 34" belt in for a 32" and he sent his before he'd gotten mine. Probably not the most business savvy move, but much appreciated. BTW, my package should be there today or tomorrow.

Quite the opposite: Jay has done such a good job with helping me with sizing/fit that he's now my go-to whenever I want to buy any new clothing item. If he has it, he gets my business. That's pretty savvy.

Edit: I just realized this is my first post. I guess it takes expressing my Blue Owl fanboyism to get me to come out of the woodwork. foo.gif

Well. That's Jay. Had the same experience with a pair of 0702's. He knows what service is.

Well, I just hope that we're all worthy of that sort trust. But that's me being cynical, I guess.

BTW, I'm with alex4nder on this. If he's got what I'm looking for, then I'm not getting it elsewhere.

Considering Jay hemmed these for me, I doubt he will be interested in taking them back. It would cost me $40 to mail it back to him, plus whatever he charges to hem and send a 30 out :(.

I guess my message is: don't buy into the whole bulshit of "sizing down" in jeans. If Jay says on his website "size 30", and that is the size you wear for everything, buy that size.

Which model did you buy? I might be interested in taking them off your hands What length are they now?

Worthy first post, Jay is the cats meow.

I bought the Japan Blue 0201 Skinny Straight, size 28.

They have been hemmed to a 30.5" inseam. You would have to be extremely strange to have the waist and thighs to wear these and have really long legs at the same time!

Introducing - - Naked & Famous x Blue Owl "Weird Guy" Japan Heritage 2 Unsanforized 14.5oz Selvedge Denim

We are excited to introduce the newest collaboration between Naked & Famous and Blue Owl, a limited production of 62 pairs. This project has been coined "Japan Heritage 2," because of its similarities to the original "Japan Heritage" denim released back in June 2011. The fabric is a 14.5oz unsanforized selvedge woven at extremely low tension. It has a beautiful dark indigo shade that will produce deep, prominent fades. The low tension weave gives the fabric a distinct texture, a hairy surface, and an incredible feel. This unsanforized fabric will shrink one full tag size (keep this in mind when you order).

Naked & Famous x Blue Owl "Weird Guy" Japan Heritage 2 Unsanforized 14.5oz Selvedge Denim
* The "Weird Guy" fit is slim with medium rise and tapers to the leg opening
* 14.5oz unsanforized selvedge with pink & white accents (expect to shrink one full size with the first wash/soak)
* 5 pocket, button fly closure
* Hidden selvedge coin pocket detail
* Custom designed patch. This cognac reddish-brown color is the first only time used by Naked & Famous
* 100% cotton
* Indigo
* Made in Canada

The fabric is woven in very small batches at a family-run mill in Okayama Japan. The owner of the mill is a master at his craft and creates denim for some of the most famous cult denim brands from Japan. Using artisan tricks to manipulate old shuttle looms, such as irregular tension settings and alternating warp sizes, he creates denim that appears as if it was handmade, though made through age-old shuttle looms.

Introducing - - Japan Blue x Blue Owl collab #2

We are proud to introduce the second denim in Japan Blue x Blue Owl collaboration series. Our second collaboration with Japan Blue uses an indigo/indigo 14oz low tension woven selvedge made in Japan Blue's skinny straight fit. The denim is made in Japan by Japan Blue, using all Japan Blue signature details, is designed by Blue Owl, and is a limited production run of 61 pairs. One simple detail that stands out is the yellow contrast stitching, which is hard to find on the current denim market among the indigo/indigo and indigo/black style denims.

Japan Blue x Blue Owl 14oz Indigo/Indigo "Low Tension" Skinny Straight Selvedge Denim
* Japan Blue's "skinny straight" denim fit is slim in the top block, has a low rise, runs slim in the leg, and tapers from the thigh to the leg opening.
* The fabric is a 14oz selvedge with both the warp and weft dyed to a pure dark indigo. The fabric is woven at a very slow speed with a loose tension, which takes much more time to produce but will result in a fabric that becomes much softer with wear. The low tension weave creates a unique variation and irregularity in the surface texture of the denim.
* The warp and weft yarns are both rope dyed in the same pure indigo. With rope dying, the core of the yarn will remain white, thus after wear and some indigo loss, the core of the yarn will be exposed, showing the white. This will result in a high contrast fade as the white core of the yarn is exposed behind the super dark pure indigo surface.
* Japan Blue signature blue inseam
* Bronze buttons and rivets
* Yellow gold contrast stitching
* Custom Japan Blue + Blue Owl cowhide leather patch
* White selvedge with pink accent
* 100% cotton
* Available in sizes 28-34, 36
* Made in Japan
