Momotaro: "Going to Battle" Denim Jacket - - Restocked Again

Our recent restock from earlier this month of the Momotaro "Going to Battle" denim jacket sold out in most sizes quickly.....so we ordered another restock immediately which just arrived! The Momotaro "Going to Battle" denim jacekt has become one of our store favorites. It runs slim in the arms and body and length hits just below the belt which is the ideal fit for a denim jacket. We first introduced the "going to battle" denim jacket in fall 2011 and we are excited to have it available this season. We currently have stock in all sizes.

Introducing - - Japan Blue x Blue Owl x Momotaro collab chino


We are proud to introduce a new project....the Japan Blue x Blue Owl collaboration series. Our first collaboration with Japan Blue is actually a 3 way collaboration featuring Momotaro. This collaboration is a slim chino using the Japan Blue skinny straight fit, details from both the Momotaro and Japan Blue labels, designed by Blue Owl, and a limited production run of 63 pairs.

Japan Blue x Blue Owl x Momotaro 9.5oz Slub/Slub "Going to Battle" Skinny Straight Selvedge Chino
* The fabric is a custom made 9.5oz selvedge chino made with slub yarn for both the warp and weft. The fabric is made on old shuttle looms at very slow speeds that can produce only 50m of fabric per day. The fabric is then dyed using a special machine called a "Jikka". Jikka dying machines were produced before the 1950's and are very difficult to use because it is a very slow process, yet very careful with the fabric causing much less damage compared to modern dying machines. The result is a fabric that will achieve a very natural fade after wearing and appearance of a real vintage chino. This chino is made for real chino lovers!
* Japan Blue's "skinny straight" denim fit is slim in the top block, has a low rise, runs slim in the leg, and tapers from the thigh to the leg opening.
* "Going to Battle" stripes are a symbol of Japanese tradition representing honor and strength. The warrior stripes also represent the flag carried by "Momotaro" in the original folklore story.
* As this is a collaboration including Momotaro, we also added a small detail using both Momotaro and Japan Blue hardware. All hardware is dark bronze finish.

I was thinking about other colors, but that would be a while. Maybe come late spring we will do another color.

3sixteen 14.5oz "Solid Black" Selvedge


Solid Black is back, restock just arrived today! The denim fabric is woven in Okayama and custom made for 3sixteen. It is also the exact same fabric which is used on other 3sixteen denims, only difference being a different dye is used. This denim features a dyed black warp and weft which gives a consistent stark black color. The Solid Black is available in both the "Slim Straight" fit (model SL-220x) and the "Slim Tapered" fit (model ST-220x). We are full on all sizes, except size 32 on the ST-220x which is sold out and will not be available until the next production run....sorry if this is your size.

Momotaro Denim Restocks - Grand Indigo ER007-2B & Deep Indigo 0702


Momotaro denim restocks are here! In our recent shipment, we have received full restocks of both the Momotaro Deep Indigo 0702 (left) and the Grand Indigo (right) which fills us on all sizes 28-36. Comparing these two denims side x side you can really see how different the color truly is. Essentially they are the same denim. They are using a similar fabric with the same fit and many of the same details, difference is the color. Both feature the sulphur dyed weft, but the warp yarns use a different type of natural indigo dye giving the Grand Indigo a deep sea blue color and the Deep Indigo a dark midnight blue color.

We are proud to introduce the new and improved "Skinny Straight" fit by Japan Blue. With this newest production, Japan Blue has modified their skinny straight fit by dropping the rise slightly and slimming out the legs just a touch to make the fit even slimmer than before. The new skinny straight denims will have new model numbers being the JB0201 Vintage and the 0200sp Going to Battle denims. They will also be available starting with size 28.

A new shipment of restock denim has just arrived from Kojima and we received restocks of 3 denim series from the Momotaro line. So I am looking at the momotaro deep indigo 0702 and your collaboration jean of the momotaro deep indigo 0702. I like that it's a skinny fit, but I am worried because it looked like the stitching was a little bit different and the color seemed to be a little bit lighter. Is that the lighting in the pictures? Also, 9 inch rise seems kind of tight.

They are different fabrics. They do use the same indigo and same thread colors, but the collab will have a heavier slubbier yarn and more course texture. In certain light, the 0702 will look lighter, but that is due to the smooth surface of the fabric. They look indentical in terms of color in person.

And yes, the collab is tighter in the top block and has a lower rise. Great fit and wearing it right now.

Naked & Famous x Blue Owl 14.5oz Low Tension Unsanforized Weird Guy - Coming Soon!


Another project in the works and almost complete! Introducing the Naked & Famous x Blue Owl 14.5oz Low Tension Unsanforized Weird Guy. The fabric is a 14.5oz unsanforized selvedge that is woven at extremely low tension and has a beautiful dark indigo shade that will produce deep prominent fades. The low tension weave gives the fabric a great a texture, hairy surface and incredible fell. This is a limited production of about 50 pairs of denim and they are coming out of factory very soon! More details to come upon arrival!


The fabric is woven in very small batches at a family-run mill in Okayama Japan. The owner of the mill is a master at his craft and creates denim for some of the most famous cult denim brands from Japan. Using tricks to manipulate his old shuttle looms, like irregular tension settings and alternating warp sizes, he creates denim that appears to be handmade.


Final touches are happening right now. They will ship out by mid-November and we will have in store around the end of the month.

Ok thanks. I know this is probably sacrilege for a lot of people, but I don't like slubbier threads. But thanks for the response.

I really wish I had more pictures to compare with the collaboration because they look like pretty damn awesome fit.

How are the Naked and Famous shirt slim fit it looks like they run large? I normally wear a medium. I have a 38 chest
