I haven't been, but my Nashville friends say that it is pretty cool. I think that Details actually spotlighted the store in the last issue.

I'd love to live outside of a metropolitan area to do something like this. I wonder how they are succeeding financially considering their locale? The place looks wonderful and the video on the web site is really inspiring. I couldn't find a stockist list for the West Coast!

I don't know if you are being silly, or just missed this... but I am under the impression they only do business within the confines of their shop:

That's cool, maybe they're already so wealthy profit isn't their main focus.

I'm under the impression it's a retail location that carries other labels. They're supposed to get the S/S '10 LVC collection

Judging by the pics on their site, they appear to sell some things by other brands (especially vintage stuff). A stack of jeans with RRL labels clearly visible is the best indication of this. In their little bio section it says they've been employed by RRL in the past, so maybe that has something to do with it?

The site made me pretty interested in their stuff, but it doesn't appear to be possible to buy anything from them without going to Nashville....which is a bit of a hike.

DC styleblog Project Beltway did a short piece on them back in November. Says right there in the post they were making stuff for RRL.

I'm actually sortof a regular there. I can say without hesitation that it is one of the coolest stores I've ever been to in my life, competing with Sid Mashburn in Atlanta. They are in an up-and-coming area of Nashville (hardly out in the country) and they seem to be doing an excellent business. They are located in a converted service station (hence the garage door) and the backyard has been converted into a really cool venue. During the spring, summer, and fall they host a "Supper and a Song" once a week where they have a singer-songwriter or a group come and play a free concert and the local artisan taco truck pulls up and serves dinner. Microbrews are copious and whiskey is a frequent guest on colder nights, most memorably at their recent retrospective of photographer Jim McGuire's work with musical guests Justin Townes Earle and Holly Williams.

The store sells a mix of their own products (denim, modified vintage t-shirts and sweatshirts, scarves); new products from other brands (RRL, Rogan, J Brand, Billykirk, White's); and an exquisitely-curated vintage collection (hundreds of boots, Levis, hats, wool sweaters, flannel). All of their denim is made in-house, half of the shop is a huge workshop full of vintage sewing machines, and paper patterns hang from the ceiling. There are rows and rows of coffee cans filled with every rivet, button, etc. you could imagine.

The owners, Matt and Carrie, are great folks who really really know their stuff and have fantastic taste. Their employees are very stylish and helpful. I've never been in there that they didn't have a number of customers purchasing stuff, and while I've never bought any jeans there, I have lusted after them. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I too, know Carrie and Matt, and I'm currently wearing a pair of their denim. I'd sleep in them if I could, but my "Willies" (the men's design) is still shedding indigo over everything they touch. They only produce in small batches, and do not sell outside of their shop in Nashville. It's actually what sort of makes them unique. Carrie comes from a "denim family" of sorts, and both Carrie and Matt know their product well. I could go on and on about them, but suffice it to say they are from Henderson, Ky, and if anyone knows denim--you'll be able to connect what I'm talking about. They do sell other brands including APC and RRL. They also have some other items, chambray shirts, and the like; they also sell vintage items including cowboy boots, leather bags, etc. It's an extremely intimate setting, and it's the feeling they give you when you're in the store that makes owning a pair of their denim so special. The men's denim line is fashioned after Levi's 501s--I think '55 or '57, I don't recall the year off hand. But if you call them, they'd love to talk to you. Louise and Ian also work at the shop and are just as knowledge and passionate about their wears. It's also not uncommon to see some celebrities come through the shop, and as manifold destiny said before--their Thursday song and food events are worth the visit even if you don't purchase a pair.

About the denim--all of the I+W lines are unhemmed and are fitted to you and hemmed on the spot. Their new batch of denim just came out around Thanksgiving and are a bit heavier than their first run. I've had mine for about a month, and they're still a bit stiff, but in all honesty, it makes me realize that these things are going to stick around for quite some time.

One last thing--they also do great denim repair. Blown out pants don't stand a chance. And it doesn't have to be their line or a line they sell, they're in it for the passion, and it tells.

thanks robbie. sufu shows nothing for me, either. i guess i'm just gonna have to make the 1 mile trek over to check them out. there's a guy on denimdebate.com with them but his update pics aren't fit pics and he doesn't give the measurements.
