The shoe repair shop creased my pair of cordovan chukkas... - Page 3

this is pretty serious damage and obviously they have no idea how to handle cordovan. Ignore the morons on this thread, and thanks for letting everyone know to avoid Brooks. youve done nothing wrong aside from assuming that SF reviews mean anything.

That is ridiculous. Definitely take them back and demand that they fix the shoe as much as possible. Also demand a partial refund for poor work and for wasting your time.

I guess I neglected to check the shoe. If I had noticed when picking them up, I definitely would have called it to their attention. I only noticed when putting them on the next day (first wear after picking them up).

I checked and it's definitely not due to the shoe trees. The crease isn't where the trees sit, but rather where the leather meets that rigid heel support area, whatever it's called.

Thanks all for the advice and replies. I've complained to Brooks and they want me to take the shoes in to have a look. I'll definitely be going to Beehive in the future.

I would save the trip to Brooks and just bring to Beehive. They will try and rationalize the damage and waste your time-which will just make you more upset (they will talk down to you and also let you know that they "know" high end shoes....), they are horrid.

This.

You lost about 2/3 of your credibility by not bringing it up immediately

that sucks. at least chukkas are ugly so its not a big loss.

OP has every right to be upset. No shoe should come back with such marks, new or used, after getting a simple Topy job.

OMG A CREASE!!!

A six year old crease, at that!

I remember this thread. It sucked then, and hasn't improved over the years. I wonder if the OP's chukka looks like a shar pei's ass now?
