Are these sleek enough to wear with jeans/chinos with a slimmer leg opening?

I don't have clown feet or anything, I'm a size 11, but I was just curious how they would look.

I think they look just fine with a smaller leg opening jean. My widest leg opening with my denim is 7.5.

They work just fine with slim straight leg jeans.

Yea my RL vintage fit chinos measure about that, that's what I way trying to get a reference to. Thanks!

I'm gonna go with the blacks and I already reserved a pair of the Addisons.

Roy Boot or Wolverine 1000 mile?

Both Alden/Context Roy and the 1000 mile are plain toe boots in horween chromexcel. Different soles (Roy Boot has the crepe sole) and toe shapes. Anyone have experience with both? Which is the better boot?

It would be great to see a side by side of these two.

Realized I could do this myself. I think I like the roy boot better--but not sure if it's worth the additional cost of $125 plus.

I think the Roy is definitely worth the extra $$$....but the question is can you handle the many month wait for them. If so, go that way. If not the 1000 mile boot is a great alternative.

We can get any of the boots in the line.

Go with the Roy Boot. The month or so of waiting and the $125 will make you happier in the long, long term. Also the crepe sole is secretly the best boot sole out there (unless we're talking hiking boots, which these really aren't). You get just enough traction but without the one-inch-of-rubber look of the commando sole.


I thought you guys had issues with them when the 1000 Mile first came out. Have those been resolved?

We are a Wolverine dealer and can get them. I'll just leave it at that.
