Why do think that you cannot use the boot oil on your boots ?

I know CXL leather can be picky with what is used, and want to make sure im using the correct oil on them.

Perhaps, you missed the 'coconut wars' of earlier this year ?

Wolverine in partnership with Horween recommend MBP. Horween have variously recommended neatsfoot and VSC. Others in this thread have used products by AE, Skidmore, Red Wing, Filson, Obenauf's, Bicks, Pecards, Huberts, Snoseal, kiwi, saphir, Lexol and/or coconut oil.

I don't think that CXL is as fussy as you think. The wearer is likely to be fussier regarding the type of look they want from CXL and a shoe/boot care product.

Forgive my ignorance, but these are my first "real boots", and first foray into the leather world. I'm new to these forums so I'm just trying to see what would do best to protect these boots for the next decade or so.

Also, what is MBP? Google failed me since nothing but Macbook Pro results came up for that. Thanks.

That was a typo shog[1].gif It should be MPB as in Montana Pitch Blend - www.montanapitchblend.com/.

Wolverine sell a 1K leather care kit that contains MPB - http://www.wolverine.com/US/en-US/Mobile/Product.mvc.aspx/31947Z/77994

Made in America using the finest materials available, the 1000 Mile shoe care kit is the perfect accessory to the Wolverine 1000 Mile footwear collection. Wolverine partnered with Horween® and Montana Pitch-Blend to create a premium all-natural leather care kit designed to protect and nourish your 1000 Mile boots to keep them conditioned and supple.

• Made in the U.S.A.
• Heavy-duty waxed canvas bag with Horween® Chromexcel leather trim – water resistant lining & zipper closure
• 3.0 oz all-natural leather dressing
• 8.0 oz all-natural leather oil & conditioner
• Horsehair brush

You can use the Red Wing oil and you will be fine. You and your boots will not implode, explode or fall into a black hole if you use it.

Got some Courtlands a week or two ago. Surely this isn't normal:

What's the issue? the sticker residue on the heel that will wear off the first time you go outside?

Edit: Oh, the half sole length. Yeah probably not.

maybe you got size 7 for your right and size 11 for you left! hehe that's why sometimes its better to buy $30 made in china boots, hehehe

facepalm.gif After receiving a couple pairs of defective 1ks myself, I pointed Wolverine customer service to this thread with all the QC complaints. They just don't seem to really give a damn. At least they recognize them as defective.

"SF Fashion is not a valid reseller of our product. They are selling seconds and defects. So the issues that are coming from them are something that we cannot help with since they are seconds"

Someone should tell them the forum isn't selling people these shoes.

I have a feeling the people who notice, care, and post to the internet about these things are a very very tiny portion of their customer base.

That's a good point, however I imagine if enough bad reviews were left on Amazon and a few other sites like Nordstrom's it would be a start.

I have a pair of the regular W1K in size 9 and they fit me perfectly.

However, I tried on a pair od size 9 Addison yesterday, the area around the vamp was very tight that I needed to go to 9.5. I thought they are built on the same last?

Anyone have similar experience between the regular and the Addison?
