Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot Review - Page 182

I've looked at both the Oak Street and White's and it comes down to one thing: my feet are oddly shaped and I just can't buy a pair of boots custom-order. We're talking boots that start at $400+ just to get a specific color of CXL, when Wolverine's in a different color is easy to find under $300 if you try, and my 744 seconds were $350. I don't need natural CXL *that* much.

Plus, remember that Wolverine just added the #8 CXL not so very long ago, and it is a very similar color to both the rust and the brown. I see no reason to assume that they *definitely* won't add a pair of natural cxl as well, even though they have a tan. Also, the line is only, what, 3-4 years old right? Okay, that's enough wishful thinking.

Wdahab, when does the sale for 1k on haberdashmen.com start? Just call to order?

Check their main page for details. It says now through Monday though. And I'm hearing on reddit mixed info on whether shipping is free or not for these (some say it was, others $15). YRMV

I called earlier and they were sold out of a size 8 in brown already and told me shipping was $15 to anywhere in the US. I was able to get nordstroms to price match it for me with free shipping. I ordered a brown pair and a rust pair from nordstroms, since I'm not sure on which one I want. 

I just tried to get Nordstrom to match, and when I (and the Nordstrom salesperson) went to check the haberdashmen.com website all traces of the sale had suddenly vanished. ARGH.

I am thinking about removing the tongue of my boots and getting light weight laces to eliminate some boot weight. Anyone ever tried this? If so, did it make a difference?

Go buy a pair of whites and the 1000 mile will feel like a slipper.

Seriously, these boots are not heavy.

Can anyone give a firsthand description of the differences between the liquid oils and the conditioner paste. I use the Pitch blend paste ( which is good for me) but am curious about how the oil lasts and apply.



Also is this a similar product to the sno-seal that seems so popular here? A lot of what I've seen looks whiter and more like a cream

Great thread! I fell in love with the 1Ks, unfortunately they are almost unavailable in Germany.
But I'll be in Fort Lauderdale visiting an old friend in April.

Do you know where to buy 1Ks in the Lauderdale area? I know Nordstrom carries them, so is this my only source? Does Nordstrom stock all colors, all sizes, or is this more a question of luck? I don't want to order online, need to try them on first.

I have a 10 1/2 in the Redwing GTs, is the Wolverine the same fit as GTs?

Damn these boots, as at this moment they are too expensive for me! :P

I wear 10 in both Redwing GT's and Wolverine's 1000. The GT's are a little narrower, but length-wise, both fit fine.

How does everyone recommend sizing compared to other brands/lasts? Same size as Indy boots? Any other sizing comparisons beyond the GTs?
