I'm in a writing mood so I think I'll be getting around to writin' up a how do I feel about these boots after 3 plus years of beating 'em to death sort of thing. I suppose if I'm really up to it I'll write another article on how to care and waterproof them as well. Both articles will be posted on my site so it's easier for people to find the review and care posts.

In other news it looks like we're finally getting the go ahead to put up the entire line on the store site and listed with Wolverine as a stockist. Persistence does pay off sometimes.

Will being a stockist affect your store's price for W1K's?

So, wore the 744s around a the marshy area at my beach this weekend, just to test 'em out. Walked in a puddle, just to check weak points in how waterproof they came, some seepage, but not too bad. They came home covered in sand and mud, all of that cleaned off nicely, and they cleaned right up. Put in some cedar to dry them out.

Last night, sno-sealed them. Did not suck in the wax quite the way Crane's did, though perhaps I was a bit too generous? Definitely took it in, but there was a *lot* left on the surface and around the welt. Re-warmed them up with the hairdryer, and wiped off the excess. Going to do a light second coat on the seams and welt today. The stitches themselves really take to being waxed, I prefer them this way, actually. The uppers themselves are, right now, a really dark chocolate. Think AE Daltons kind of dark brown. Not quite showing the depth of color, except in the toe cap where the mahogany is still peaking through. We'll have to see how they look in a week or so, what kind of color starts coming back out.

Mr. Crane: do you guys carry any of the women's line of 1Ks? My lady is looking for the Evelyn boots.

Called up Crane's, was hoping to get the Filson x Levi collab trucker. Apparently that's the one thing that's no-can-do for you guys. Too bad.

Yeah, they pretty much keep all the collabs to themselves.

 

does the Samantha Pleet 1000 mile line count as a collab that Crane's can't get, or are those fair game from the store?

They might be fair game because it seems there's a bunch of stockists carrying them. I'm also looking at the Fall 2013 catalog and there sure does seem to be more Pleet inspired boots and shoes in the lineup.

Mr Crane, do you guys carry the Wolverine Courtland boots?

My 1K came in today! Wonderful boots. There's a slight dent on the toe of mine but I couldn't be bothered to return it.

Is there a reason you have those laced like a pair of air force 1s or something?
