Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot Review - Page 15

I hope Revolve gets some restock in other sizes in so I can use my 30% new customer coupon... I really like these boots.

I ordered some Montana Pitch Blend for my Addisons - but now I'm a bit worried that it will soften the boot - and / or introduce danger of rottening because of the mink oil. Anyone have experience with this? Should I just trash it - and go with sno seal or Obenaufs? Or can I use it with some other products?

I use Obenauf's LP once or twice a season like Crane's does (similar to sno seal), but I use the Obenauf's leather oil in between applications about every two or three weeks. I'd recommend just picking up both.

Tried ordering some Obenaufs online - but they wouldn't ship small orders to Europe

Maybe try ordering from Cabela's and see if they'll ship to Europe? I know they sell Obenauf's in store and online.

Yep. Boot oil applied liberally every two to 4 weeks depending on how often I wear them. My 721 LTDs are getting the most wear these days. 5 days a week while my original 1Ks are seeing action only two days a week. Keep in mind that's my routine for cowhide boots. Shell cordovan I have a different routine. The main difference is the frequency between treatments.

Ok guys, some opinions please. I am wanting some stylish, comfortable and ruggish looking boots to wear with jeans mostly.

The dilemma I have is between these: The black or brown with wingtip or the wolverine 1000 in brown. Been bouncing between these and redwings GT.

I wear around a 12 in sneakers and 11.5 in some. US sizes.

Thanks for taking time to read my post. Sorry if this is a post hijack.

I have GTs and a pair of Wesleys. Something about those Addisons I just don't care for. I would go GT.

I hear that these boots run slightly large. With the idea that that comment is a bit vague, how much larger are the Wolverine sizes than a typical size 12?

I have used Sno-Seal with great results. You might want to warm your boots up in an oven at 150 degrees for about ten minutes. Use pot holders to protect your hands from the grommets when you remove them. The Sno-Seal seeps into the leather much better.

Use a hairdryer. I did a tutorial on this and posted it in two threads.

My 10 D ran true to size, but my own 2 cents is that on boots like these, which are meant to be worn and walked in for long stretches, a thicker sock is recommended. The soles are leather- which means you feel the ground way more than a rubber sole, so that thicker sock adds comfort as well as protection for your feet. And thick doesn't mean hot; a good wool sock will breathe.
Same thing goes for my Katahdin's and other work boots; I size them for mdeium to thick socks and find that a way more comfortable way to wear em'.

Does anyone own both the Addison and the Original Boot style 1000 Mile? Do they fit the same or does the wingtip affect the fit/comfort?

Thanks!

Good point Bob. I've said the same thing more or less. Perhaps I should have stressed this more. I wore arctic weight wool socks while hunting this weekend. My boots fit snug but not uncomfortably so. I usually wear midweight Smart Wool hiking socks with boots. My measured size is 8.5 D which is the size of all three pairs of my 1K boots.

Same fit across the board.
