Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot Review - Page 112

I find the captoe of the 744 a bit.... weird. The toe box of the 1000 mile boot is too high to look good with captoe IMO. But my opinion may change seeing these boots on people's feet.

Whoa,

I guess that's a good price, but I'll save up the extra $ for the Aldens....satisfied.gif

yea the 9.5's are all sold out... I would pick those up (for $500) if they were my size cause my four 1000 miles are so comfy

The toe box of the Wolverine 1Ks looks reinforced, i.e. celastic. I've read somewhere that someone had the celastic removed from one of his boots (I can't remember what boots they were, but not Wolverines) by a cobbler.

Does anyone have experience with that? Do you think it would work with the Wolverine 1Ks?

Is it an expensive procedure?

why would you want them removed?

For a lower toe profile. I don't know if that is possible with the design as it is.

Perhaps this will change naturally over time.

I found this pic on Sufu. The toe looks different there. But it might be because it's an early version of the 1000 Miles. Not sure.

I have the Brown's and I treat mine basically the same way (few pics a few pages back).

I saw someone wearing them in Rust the other day and they looked so good, I think I have to get another pair in that colour.

and some bays shipping is reasonable

Sorry for the late reply, but thanks so much for this! I've just ordered a tub from Iron Heart. Even at £18 including shipping it's so much cheaper than importing it myself.

if you could let me know how much you have left after 'doing' a pair of boots with it, let me know.  ie how many treatments you think you'll get out of each 4oz obernauf pot

anyone else could answer this as well thx. .

Wolverine have a handy store locator - http://www.wolverine.com/US/en-US/Static/Dealer.mvc.aspx. Note the checkboxes for the 1000 milers

There looks to be one retailer in Columbus, OH - http://shoerepertoire.com/store/

I used about a third of an 8oz pot for my double coat treatment, however I applied too liberally and ended up wiping a fair bit off.

So, I think you'd squeeze about 2 double coat treatments from a 4oz pot ;)

For folks looking for a deal, it looks like Bargain Outfitters is getting some more 2nds in this year. They have 1000 Mile in brown listed on their website in various sizes. They won't ship until early October. I know some jumped on them last year, with various results (regarding imperfections) but though some here might want to give it a try for 200 bucks.

Now if only they'd get some of the last run of Rockfords...
