Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot Review - Page 81

Hi all. This is my first post and I'd just like to say that I found this thread about 6 months ago when I got interested in these boots. Many thanks to all who have contibuted, as I have found it very informative and since buying my black 1000 mile boots about 4 months ago have still continued to look in to see of any new information. I wear mine mainly with jeans, but also wear to work sometimes (smart casual office) when I feel I can get away with it as I like them so much.

Anyway, my first question and probably mainly to guys in the UK is the following.....

The only product that I have used on mine so far is Kiwi Select nourishing cream for waxed and oiled leather. I have used this as I understand that Chromexcel is a waxy leather and this was the only product that I had to suit and seems to have been okay on the times that I have used it. I just wondered what other guys in the UK have used as alot of the other products mentioned such as Montana, Obenauf's, etc. seem to be difficult to source in the UK.

I'm looking at getting a pair of brown and black 1000 mile boots and I was wondering how the width are on these boots.  I know they typically run 1/2 to full size larger in length but can anyone comment on the width.  I wear a 8 E in AE shoes and the boots only come in a regular widths or EEE sizes.  Thanks for the help.

I'm not concerned at all about the leather darkening. All my boots have darkened over time whether they were oiled or not and I like that part of the aging process. General use, sun exposure and of course conditioning/oil always darken leather.

Typically, I reserve the beeswax products--including snow seal--for my real kick-around leather boots. I'm not a huge fan of the waxy finish they leave on the leather. At the time, I didn't consider the conditions I exposed the Rust boots to be extreme, though I understand now the combo of water/denim/dust was very tough on the new leather.

I'll go ahead and use the Lexol cleaner and the Obenauf's, beeswax included. I think these boots will clean up okay and the beeswax should help protect them. Maybe I'll even go the whole hog with snow seal.

If you dont go hog wild and only apply small amount like 1 or 2 coats, you shouldn't get too waxy. Thats what i did and you barely noticed a difference.

Hi Guys!

I know this question has been asked over and over again in this thread but I really need your help on sizing for Wolverine 1K Original. I've tried emailing Wolverine about sizing and they told me that the sizing runs true to size. However, I found out that some of u here size differently for your Red Wing and Wolverine. Currently I'm wearing US 9 for Red Wing GT and it fits perfectly, so what size should I get for Wolverine 1k? Any help is much appreciated! thumbs-up.gif

They'll shine right up after the oil completely dries but oh how the patina is developing on these..... deep black cherry color with deep red highlights.

Wow Crane! That's really a nice pair of 721LTD you have there. Would really love to own them but too bad that I could only afford to own the originals :(

I have both the GTs and the 1Ks in the same size and to me they fit the same.

I'm really interested in seeing how Trapp's boots are doing after the conditioning and brushing to try to recover them.

When the boots are done, I'll post pics as promised. I'm busy at work this week so it might not get to them until the weekend.

Thanks indigoeagle and brian! I know revolve clothing is giving 30% off for first time customer but they don't have 1k Mile original black. So does anyone know where to get 1000 Mile Original Black at the lowest price/comparable to revolve clothing?

I would say ebay but the one guy selling them for $250 or so isn't selling them on there anymore. You could still try there, other than that i dont know of any other sales going on.
