@SpallaPerfetta An 8.5D 1000 Mile seems more likely to fit you, in my opinion. My Wolverine pair is a full size down from my AE 1757 size, and a half size larger would have been better.

Need some fit advice… I wear Allen Edmonds Higgins Mill/Patton (1757 last) 9D and Park Avenue (65 last) 9E. Do you think I’d be alright for 1000 miles in 8.5D? More concerned about the length than the width.
The 1000 boots are built using a Last which is very rounded at the toe area. For this reason most consumers are surprised to find that a full size down (from other brands) is their best fit. Others find that a 1/2 size down is best.
For you I guess it is 50/50 whether size 8D or 8.5D will be the best fit. The company offers free returns so you may order one of each.

Wolverine has their "baseline" 1000 Mile Boot. Then there is the 1000 Mile Boots Collection. Different models with different designs, sold under the same banner. Cap toes, moc toes, wedge soles, lug soles, special leather, different colors..... they try to capture everybody's buying habits. Over a lifetime of having feet, and walking on them, I've accumulated quite a few pairs of shoes. Every time there is a sale or coupon which makes the shoes "affordable" to me, I buy. In the age of the internet, it has become a lot easier to "get deals" with coupon codes and such. I buy even though I don't need. Which is like everything else. I don't want to be in need, then have to pay whatever the prevailing market price is. Buy when it's cheap, then have it for when I need it. Truth is, I have enough shoes to last for the rest of my life. From functional safety toes, to dress shoes, and everything in between. If I never buy another pair of shoes, I will be okay.

These are my 1000 Mile Boots which span the course of several decades of waiting, then buying on sale.

I stopped purchasing 1000 Mile boots because the speed hooks would not stay attached to the eyelet stays. It's a shame because otherwise I like the fit and appearance of the boots.

Do you still have the boots? You could try contacting Wolverine. 1000 Mile Boots being sort of a crown jewel of their line, Wolverine has a special department dedicated to customer service just for 1000 Mile Boots issues. They may be able to help repair the shoe as a warranty item.

The pull tab broke on one of my shoes. This was after over a decade of wear and tear. They honored their warranty. I had my local cobbler repair the shoe and Wolverine paid for the repair.

No repair can make acceptable a boot with torn out speed hooks. Once the hole within the eyelet stay has been enlarged, it's done because the stress of the laces will soon rip out any repair job.
I've had a local cobbler do the repairs and also talked to Wolverine company about it.
My opinion is that the 1000 Mile are made on a good sense Last that makes for a good looking boot.
But, for the Cromexcel leather upper models Wolverine is using too low of a quality leather not strong enough to withstand the stress put on speed hooks. Or, the company should reinforce the eyelet stays with an interior piece of leather. *for their USA Made speed hook boots Red Wing uses thick-strong enough leather so that the hooks stay in place. For their Speed hook boots Alden uses an interior piece of leather to cover the back of the speed hooks.
Sub standard quality such as speed hooks falling out and CXL leather grain break for years has been an ongoing issue for Wolverine's 1000 Mile boots, but the company management does not seem to care.

New boot day, after a year or so, decided to get a pair in 8.5 as 9 didn't feel right. Thanks to a coupon offer, these were reasonable price. Fit seems good right out of box, we will see.
