Shit aint that bad R.
You always have two options:
1: you can keep going
2: you can give up
Now, there's nothing wrong with choosing either option. But if you have a daughter, you might want to figure out a way to get some help.
Depression isn't something you can self medicate. You need to get your shit together, and we are all here for you, but we can't do it for you.

+1 on the above reactions. Something else. Your lifestyle at the moment sleeping in, drinking, giving in to the pain makes the depression stronger. Once in the same situation a psychologist told me, everybody would become depressed when living my lifestyle. Just get up. I know in your situation that's the hardest thing to do, but get up early in the morning, take a shower and go outside, for a walk. Then make breakfast for your daughter. And go about your day. Inactivity perpepuates your mind set. Lower back pain may be caused by your long laying on a (bad) matras. Moving in a normal way is often prescribed for it. Get up. and

Seek out a local free health clinic. If you lost your job because of your depression, you need to get on some meds, or else the same thing is going to happen with your next job, and the next. Don't worry about a lack of health insurance, you don't need any to receive help. Get on the job search ASAP. Landing a new job and the new people/environment that provides can help immensely. Hopefully by hooch you mean pot and not alcohol. Alcohol is a depressant, stay away from it. One last suggestion, very important: get a new bed.

r, please seek medical help. You can come out on top with some medical advice and, likely, some prescriptions.

All of the above - get to a clinic ASAP. After the clinic, get out of the house, and consider volunteering - whether it's at a soup kitchen or a museum or a church or a school, what have you. Just get out among people and make a difference, it helps.
Sometimes just that first step seems small - but what matters is that you start and start now.

Exercise if you can -- recent research shows that it repairs neurological pathways in a similar way to antidepressants. Just interacting with other people, for me, has a sort of grounding effect and is a tremendous help. You really need to be seeing a doctor. Many generic antidepressants are dirt cheap. The first step is really to realize that this is something that can be helped if not cured. Good luck.
