It's quite hard to move to the UK without any sort of citizenship, ancestry visa, or the like. I'm currently trying to make my way over there now after I graduate. I have a very competitive GPA and resume but find entry-level positions hard to find. Sponsorship will be an issue for any sort of employment and it sounds like OP has very little behind him.

Philly would definitely be a choice that fits most of his criteria. There are plenty of neighborhoods where you could rent for $500-$600, and you wouldn't need a car.

Being from Tucson, I would agree that is a good call. However, I am not sure of the current employment situation there.

However, my first choice would be Austin, TX. The economy is booming, lots of cultural activities and a relatively inexpensive cost of living.

I will add another vote for Austin. You may never leave.

Today I applied for a summer job on a Holland America tourist train in Alaska. That might be interesting.

I'm looking to move here as well. You can have a very cheap urban lifestyle. If you stay long enough you could qualify for in-state tuition at UT, and it's a great place to get an education.

Any of the big 3 in Texas.

Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio.

Austin would be nice as well but i think of it as more of a large college town. But it is a fun place to spend a weekend.

Eastchester, Bronx?

Do you fancy... Ridiculously overpriced, shodddily-built housing? Restaurants that charge high prices for mediocre food? Big-boned women dressed in polar fleece? People who consider bathing something you do only a few times a year? Horrendous traffic caused by drivers who make senile retired Floridians seem like brain surgeons? The worst customer service the world has ever seen? In that case, come to the Pacific Northwest!
