I'll have to ask her and get back to you. I know that so far she's loving them, but I'll have to get back to you with the details. I do know that she didn't struggle as much as you did to zip them up, so maybe switching to the 28's was a good idea for you.

Sizing down on zip-fly denim is kinda risky. Even after the waist stretches, there's no guarantee that the zipper will stay all the way up.

^Meh, I had issues with my pipe legs initially but now all is well. I think initial difficulties translate into eventual stretch to the appropriate degree. Embrace the pain.

^ You mean the pain of a half-open zipper?

Anyway, Sugar Cane 1966:

My first pair of true repros (purchased for a song off the supermarket), and the first pair of jeans where I don't really "get" the value or the justification behind the retail price tag. I don't question the historical authenticity, but I kinda wonder whether this model was worth reproducing to such exacting specifications. No hidden rivets, denim is better than average but by no means spectacular, color isn't anything special. Seems like the other companies that used the 1966 model as their basis and then added extra details had the right idea.

I went TTS at 30 x 34. I maybe could've sized down one, since the waist started slightly snug but stretched to comfortable on the first day, and I started out with an hour hot soak. This is in spite of the SE recommendation to size up one or two. YMMV, I suppose.

Not gonna wear these much once I get the SExDB12s, but I'll keep 'em on hand for the next time I wanna rock the Castro clone look, I guess.

newly painted acrylic " Inversed" GTB stripe [low-profile]. i find the white stripe a bit too much of an attention grabber, so i made them sorta low-profile & stealthy [ei.,while denim is still raw+dark]. hence, the "Special Ops" concept/version.

the denim is still stiff & starchy even after the double hot soak__ will take a few days for it to adopt to my contours.

Those are great, but ditch the tee

Momo fit looks great. Kinda think the KMWs could be cuffed or hemmed. The hem on the 2010s is so wide that they don't seem to stack that well (also seems like you might end up stepping on them, depending on what shoes you're wearing).

Ha ha, thanks. You're not the only one to take umbrage at the tee (I got neg repped for it on sufu). I was mostly wearing it because my brother gave it to me, and I was headed over to his place for dinner. I took pics wearing the shirt jacket I'm holding as well (which I wore pretty much all day), but you couldn't see the jeans fit as well.

Tell you what - I'll skip that tee in future WAYWTs, but I'm not letting go of my indie rock concert tees!

(wearing a Spoon tee right now)
