i usually have 4-5 pairs on my jeans rotation at any given time, so they don't get dirty enough to get washed that oftten... specially when they had to take the backseat for certain projects__ eg, the FC 1108C competition @SuFu
, the "Taming the Natural
", & now the "SevenSamurais
...." [both @MN
the jeans that i've posted on this thread have jeans descriptions, measurements, sizing, and soak/wash frequencies__ like, SD 101 hasn't been washed since last year and i got pairs [ei, 5000ai-10sp & PBJ 007] that has been multi soaked, but never seen the inside of a washer just yet. i can't really stand the smell of filth, so i soak when i have to & wash when i needed to. however. when i do wash
[ei, at least their 1st couple of washes], i give them a nice spray coat [not too much] of heavy duty starch on the laps & back combs while still slightly damp__ i use a wet towellette to spread evenly, blow dry the starched area [on high setting], then hang to let the rest dry .
as it might seem, but there is a method to the madness. aside from liking the feel of crisp, freshly washed denim, the re-introduction of starch [on certain areas] promotes roughness on the surface of the denim which makes it prone to ataris
, imho. i know this is highly
... prolly even sacrilege to the denim purists
.... but, i'm merely answering a simple question & this is what i do.
