I've been looking for a part time job to help out with food and rent and utilities (and potentially... jawnz), but it's pretty tough.

I don't have serving or retail experience so nobody wants to take me

. I feel like I'm stuck in a Catch-22, but it feels more like I'm stuck outside of it.

I've been looking at administrative positions, but a lot of them require 1+ year commitments and the hours are business hours.

I'm going to keep looking (fuu I feel like I could do this Urban Outfitters job no sweat, but

no experience)

What did you guys do as part time jobs as a student?

I feel you mang. I had a library gig before, but it kinda sucked. I think once you start working minimum wage jobs you realize how terrible it is to spend $500 on margiela sneaks.

^That's why I wouldn't want to be a pizza guy.

In college during th school year, I worked delivering newspapers, as an assistant to university archivists, as a doctor's receptionist, and last and best of all, as an assistant at a large law firm. Look through your school's career services office for a start! There is good stuff out there, but you have to hustle.

Retail. Have for the past two years, and I've been at the same place for 1.5 years, working just under full-time, usually manage 32-35 hours a week. I doubt a place like Urban Outfitters is going to hire someone with no retail experience, as they can just get design major graduates and the like who can not find jobs in this economy (I have a friend who works at an Urban, this is coming from him). Good luck, you'll probably just have to work some ****** retail job for a while and work your way up. Worked really well for me.
