any corvette fans? 56k warning

Any other vette owners on here? Here's my 02 C5, mostly a summer car that's in storage most of the year here in the northeast. It has coilovers and a heads/cam package waiting for it this spring.

Large pics.

I've seen this posted in the Cars We Drive already.

Looks cool, but I'm not a fan of the rims.

I posted it there because it's my car, and I found some more pics of it on my comp so I thought I'd create a thread about vettes with them.

musicguy- They're stock GM z06 wheels, came on all 01-04 Z06's. I dig them.

Ive been looking at a few cars recently including the vette. Haven't driven one yet but I just got done with a test drive with a Cayman. Like it. But now want to see what the vette has to offer.

Too every-man for me.

^ And not at all everyman for me. I can count the number of times I've seen a Corvette here on one hand, and that's only because there's a garage that services loads of exotics just around the corner from my house. The guy who owns the place used to go to the same gym as me, and turned up in stuff like a C2 Stingray and a V12 Jag E-Type.

If they did an official RHD version, I'd take a Corvette over similarly powered (but not priced) Porsches, Mercs and Ferraris any day. I'm not even sure what we have in the UK that would be a direct rival. TVRs were fast and had big V8s, but you could never have called them everyman cars, with their quirky styling, reliability issues and notoriously fearsome handling in the wet. Nearest thing now is probably an M3, which are certainly everyman, if by "everyman" you mean "arrogant twat in douchebag clothes with no road manners".

The latest Z06 and ZR1 are teh sechs.

M3s and G35s are definitely everyman.

I don't know a thing about 'Vettes, other than that I see too many.

I'm sorry but this is what I hate about motorists in general. When someone buys a car because of its brand perceptions it leads to debasement of the motor world. Ex: Lexus ES or Mercedes B-Class - cars bought because people wanted something that was 'not everyman' But I am confused by the title of this thread. Corvette fan? Yes. Corvette owner? Unfortunately not.

The current ZR1 is the car I'm lusting after. Supercar horsepower and torque, and check-this-out carbon ceramic brakes, for $120k? Yes please. I'll take mine in blue.

Seen a couple of Z06's running around here, and one Z51 in chick-magnet yellow. The Grand Sport looks like a great value in terms of dollar for performance.

Love the LS1 engine, you will gain an easy 100RWHP with heads and cam....been there, done that...
Wonderful car.

Regards.

I like the lines of the C5 the best of all the modern Vettes.

Very nice looking cars.

You blind doggie? Corvettes are the ugliest cars on the road. Not to mention the same design mentality as Porsche which I can't stand. Corvettes just scream white trash with money.
