Death of a Co-Worker - Page 2

the ones I distinctly remember here are our accountant who is just a very nice guy, worked with us for 30 or so years, and until the day before he died he was working well into the night, an employee who retired and just dropped dead couple of months later, while lying down on his bench, and an employee who was mugged and stabbed.

It's a car term. It occurs when gasoline vaporizes in the lines before it hits the engine, and the engine can't run. It can't (?) happen on fuel injected cars, which is why so many don't know the term now.

Word.

I have always tried to go to bed each night without bearing any grudges to anyone. Never wrap each day with an argument, fight, etc. with your spouse, kids, whatever. Because you may not have a chance to make it up the next day.

A co-worker (at my former employer) died a few months ago, age 36, from cancer. It really hit me in the gut, I didn't know him well but he was a helluva nice guy to work with.

When I was a young'un, a co-worker died from an infection he picked up from a dirty needle; he was an IV drug user. That was a life lesson I've never forgotten.

I've never had a co-worker die, but I had a client pass away. He was an Olympic swimmer that stayed in great shape. He was at the gym one day running on the treadmill when he collapsed. He died before making it to the hospital.

my best friend does IT and was temping in NY for about 6 months, after they laid him off he got pissed and told everyone they were all losers and they should get better jobs because he was making 3 times as much as them but did little work. The office was on the 83rd floor of the twin towers and they laid him off a few months before 911. When I talked to him he said all of his freinds are dead and he felt bad for calling them losers. It kind of messed him up, last I heard he was a crack head.
