Cogburn,

Is it all possible for you to lay out your tie collection and take a picture or two?
Perhaps group them in the order of your original posting?
This would be a HUGE help...

I agree with the post above...it would be very helpful.

I just came across www.thetiebar.com I am going to stock up on some $15 staples. Again, I am re-building my (social) tie collection from scratch. (NOT for an office, but for parties, dates, events, etc), what would be your top 3 solids? (I already have grey) I think I am going to try: Orange, Burgundy, and Dark Purple. What about dots besides blue/white ? What are the most versatile pocket square colors? (For use with white shirts, and blue/grey suits?)

I've done a similar trimming of the tie rotation.

I dont wear them everyday, so I simply needed a tie for every occasion that calls for a tie along with some variety.

Only thing I really feel like I'm missing is a great selection of Grenadines, I dont really like solid silk ties. Grenadines fill that hole in the wardrobe with something much more interested then a solid.

are all the ties in this rotation intended for four-season use? won't you have some summer ties and some winter ties?

Yes, summer and winter.

For me at least I prefer much more muted yellows in my fall ties, and materials such as wool and cashmere.

For summer ties I prefer slightly more vibrant colors in silk and muted linens.
