Need some new shaving cream

I have been using Taylor of Old Bond Street's 'Shaving Shop' shave cream (tub) for a while now and it has finally run out. I like the smell, and, for my first shave cream, I think I did all right. But where to go from here? I'm pretty broke right now so I was thinking of going for the Proraso tub, but if anyone can think of any similarly priced alternatives that will give a better shave, please let me know.

To those who have used Proraso, how is it? I am also thinking of using a plain old bottle of witch hazel for after the shave - with a cotton pad, as the Youtube shave guy does - instead of fancy creams, anybody find anything untoward with that?

Proraso is great, but if you head over to FragranceX.com you can get a bowl of Tabac soap for 14 dollars. It just doesn't get any better than Tabac, trust me. I'm currently alternating between Tabac and Taylor's Avocado shaving cream.

edit: I'm sorry, just saw you are in the UK. Forget about FragranceX....find somewhere in Europe to buy it. I only posted the FragranceX link because the stuff is usually pretty expensive in the States, like twice what that site is charging.

Godrej Menthol Mist.
It's icy, minty, smooth and very, very cheap.
Do a search on Ebay and you sure will find some.

Just tried some Proraso soap today (the one in the white container, aloe and green tea). It was pretty good in terms of the shave, smell wasn't that great though and a little bit of a menthol feel. In terms of soaps I'd definitely rank the tabac as higher in quality, but the proraso is worth a try. In terms of creams I've been happy with Taylor's sandalwood.

I've used witch hazel before and didn't really care for it. I typically use Brave Soldier code blue.

I like the scent, and it provides the best shaves I've ever had. Also, it lasts a very long time. A few swirls and lather is literally exploding from the brush. I have a puck of Tabac and a tub of TOBS shaving cream, between the two, I'm set for 2 years of shaving.
