The Duluth and Inventory collaboration backpack is great, even though it costs more.

It was mentioned how a few folks don't like our logo on certain products. If you call us we would be happy to make you a bag without our logo on it.
We also have waxed canvas again. Thanks again for this thread!

What weight is the waxed canvas? I looked a child's canoe pack and thought the canvas felt thin and flimsy. I'm looking for something a bit more stiff. Also, will you guys make custom sizes ala the Inventory utility pack shape (sorry Inventory, but you're sold out of stock)?

Oh and thanks for the offer to makes sans logo. It's very much appreciated.

I placed an order for a custom Dulth Pack, which will be pretty much exactly like the first Inventory collaboration, except there will only be two shorter front flap straps instead of three straps. I thought a few people here might be interested in the reply I got from the first email I sent to Duluth Pack, so here it is...

"We do custom orders. Generally it is changing colors, upgrading shoulder straps, or adding a pocket onto our canoe packs. Those changes are easy to complete, but redesigning a pack, especially dimensions, is costly. To change the height, width, or depth of the bag we would basically have to make a whole new pattern. Trying to get buckles, straps, and components to line up takes time for both our cutter and sewer. In the time it takes to make one custom pack we can make six standard packs.

I have spoken to our production manager regarding your request. We can make your pack as requested. A #51 pack with the new dimensions of 20H x 16.5W. Back straps would stay the same. We would add a new inside zipper pocket (similar to the Inventory Items Pack). The front flap straps (two total) would change to the smaller 9" strap similar length to the middle strap on the Inventory Items pack. There would be no Duluth Pack logo, but instead we would put a fabric Duluth Pack tag on the side of the pack. The price of this pack would be $200.00. Shipping would be $15.95."

Becky, the customer service manager, was very helpful and patient with my questions. I will post some pics when I receive it. Also, it looks like Inventory has just received a new batch of packs...

I too approached wrote them about the possibility of doing a custom size and they declined.
I'm sure they're getting flooded with requests for custom packs right about now...

Does anyone have a fit pic of the #51 Utility Pack?

I'm having a hard time picturing the scale...

Urban Outfitters is now offering Duluth Packs. Not too sure how I feel about that

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban...navAction=jump

I feel like you can get a little bit more out of this pack if you ordered it direct from Duluth Pack and customized it.

I love my scout pack BTW. Top notch quality, plus the waxed canvas version kicks butt in Seattle rain.

If all it takes is UO offering a product you like for your opinion of that product to change, then you're of the same mindset as people who will like a product just because it's at UO. Either way it's fickleness of the mind.

Anyone own this briefcase? Looks quite nice and you can get it without a label.

I called Duluth and they basically said they would make any bag without a logo-- She did mention they perfer not to though. I'm adding some pic's of the leather and wool bags. I should also mention that one can get a leather handle on the wool bag for an additional charge. Any thoughts on the idea of a wool bag?
