ya, it's hard to think of anything that could go wrong with that plan. edit - back on topic. Gym this morning, ran then lifted, rode bicycle in as well. Meeting friends for Japanese food for lunch, so that's pretty good as well.

and today's update. Lunch was a ham salad sandwich with salad as a side (nice work again, Mark's fries were damn tempting). Drank banana smoothies with low fat milk. Boxing tonight. I'll do some bag rounds either before or after as well. Not sure what dinner will be...fish maybe? edit: boxed + bags. Dinner was leftover Thai with rice.

Sounds supper lame and mom like, but you should try weight watchers, its the best way to track your food intake, gives you options, you don't want to deprive yourself, you want to sustain the healthy lifestyle. Also worth noting I'm probably in the best shape of my life ran 16k in the last two days, and my "diet" has been using weight watchers and picking healthy whole food options.

down to 79 kilo now, over 2kg lost in a little over a week...noticed that my face is looking a little slimmer too, which is good, I was developing a surplus chin for a while there. Lunch today was banh mi bo kho - basically a beef and vegetable stew with bread. Went to the gym and caned myself - 25 treadmill mins (just over 2.5 miles), then lifted, then three bag rounds. I have a corporate event tonight with a bunch of cocktails, so I may have to be a juice and mocktail phag, but so be it....

Have failed miserably on the diet front. Monday was good, yesterday ate several pastries and ice cream, mostly without realizing. 4 pints at the pub, then every bit of chocolate in the apartment when I got home. Weekend was more or less the same. Meh, it's my last week in France. At least the exercise is going well, Friday I took off (DOMS after Thursday's run was incredible, thighs screamed every time I stood up), apart from that have run / skipped every day. Belly-bulge is much reduced. Have forgot how good you feel after a run, can't believe I waited this long to start exercising again.

Man up jessicasimpson. I'm still doing OK, and results starting to show. Corp event on Wed night I kept it to Diet Coke and water, finger food supplied and so I picked and chose among them based on the "is this shit" principle. Flew to Hanoi bright and early on Thursday, ran 2 laps of Hoan Kiem Lake on arrival (about 2 miles) . Was wandering around the Old Quarter later when I bumped into a mate with a tour cafe, he took me in for lunch and fed me his "Mum's Recipe Bangers and Mash" which I really didn't want, but it was kind of hard to say no...in the end they were crap, and I was glad to have not grown up in his house. Had a dinner meeting at a BBQ place, but didn't eat a whole lot there, and what I did eat was basically not bad. Drank water the whole day other than a mango shake. This morning - hotel breakfast - had pho, yogurt and an apple. The menu offered "fresh apple juice" which I ordered and was clearly "fresh out of the box" apple juice, so i left it alone and drank water and coffee instead. As is typical of VN, carb heavy, which is not ideal, but certainly not fatty ass junk food. I won't have lunch today (flying on a budget carrier that won't feed me) so it'll have to see me through for a while anyhow. Fly back this afternoon, Kent Wang is down visiting, so will take him out and try to not drink... I think I owe me one weights session, 3 bag rounds and one bike ride this week, so will clean that all up tomorrow morning. I may do yoga again tonight as well. Two weeks down, and in a lot better shape already...I think I'll keep up the overkill thing for another week or so, and then resume standard maintenance regime.

me bad.

^keep it up! one bad day is not a terrible thing to beat yourself up on, especially if in general you're keeping up with your regime. if you've been eating under maintenance for a week or two and you metabolism is down and are mentally stressing out cheating might even be a good thing

went out Friday night and had a few drinks (2 whiskeys, 2 shots, a beer). Ate reasonably well (Hue food, not bad). Didn't manage any exercise Friday - Hanoi was mad cold in the morning and I only had shorts and a tee, so I skipped the run, and when I landed back in SGN I went to meet Kent Wang and took him out, so didn't get a chance to go workout. SPB Lady and I stopped at a late night greasery (where I had the beer), smoked a little weed and I accidentally ate a grilled cheese sandwich. Did lunch with the boys on Saturday, had a stew, wasn't too bad. Met Kent again, went around a bit. Dinner was roast pork with rice (didn't eat a lot of the rice though). Didn't manage to get any gym time in. Starved of gym time and with a bit of catch up in mind, I have beaten myself silly today. Lunch was an omelet, went to the gym, ran 30 mins (normally 20), did my lifting program, then went and hit the bags. Did 5 rounds (normally 3), then went out to the pool and swam 20 laps (smallish pool though, just like 20 meters, so ~400m). update - my motorbike wasn't fixed, so I ended up walking all the way from my house to SPB Lady's house (~7km I guess), and then we met Kent Wang at a Vietnamese BBQ joint. Ate OK, drank only water...ignored SPB's Pepsi, despite the fact that it was clearly calling me.

Last few days have been ok, little bit of chocolate here and there and an apple tart yesterday evening; otherwise clean eating without much alcohol. Have kept up the running every morning, won't go for one today though since carting around ~45kg of luggage (ugh) will be workout enough, once it's packed (ugh ugh). Experienced some Chest Discomfort over the weekend, which was close enough to Chest Pain to scare some sense into me; on some days here I ate what was a month's worth of junk in Sydney. WTF, no more.

I've been generally OK for the last couple. Yesterday was too much pasta (both lunch and dinner). Client called a meeting at an Italian restaurant, had pasta. Went home and the maid had cooked...pasta. I rode bike to work, but didn't go to the gym. Other than one Diet Coke, I drank water all day. This morning - ran/lifted/bag work at gym. Lunch was a 3 course affair with some girl who wants advice on setting up a PR firm. Softshell crab first up, fish and vegetables next. Fish was in some cheesy creamy sauce, which I scraped off. Dessert was creme brulee, which I didn't eat. Good boy Mattie. Drank Diet Coke. Had a meeting in a coffee shop after that, drank mango juice there (fresh squeeze, not boxed-n-sugared). Boxing tonight. Not sure what dinner will be, but I'll keep it healthy. Off to Hanoi tomorrow, which curtails my gym-ing, so I'll just run the lake every day and maybe burpees in my hotel room in lieu of lifting.

In the interests of closure, I should update this thread. I am back to just under 77kg, given that I started a bit over 81, I have lost about 5 kilo. I have stuck basically to my workout program. Missed a few things over the weeks (mostly bike rides to work on days when I either have early or late meetings) and some bag sessions, but otherwise, have been pretty successful. I'm still eating a whole lot better than I was before. Binary diet win. "Is it shit?" is as good a diet as I can think of, and, other than a chocolate bar once, and some chips the other night, I have basically been junk food free for a month. Drinking wise - I had one big night out when a friend came back to visit, but that aside, you could count on your fingers the number of (alcoholic) drinks I have consumed in the past month, and probably not need to count the thumbs. Non-alcohol, I have probably had 2 or 3 Cokes since I proclaimed the ass beating phase on. Drank 90% water. Morning coffee (which admittedly, given that it is VNese caphe sua da, is a massive calorie bomb, but it is my one compromise), some juice/smoothies, Diet Coke when out and about and need to drink something (and occasionally at home too). I'm visibly in a lot better shape. Feeling a lot better mentally/productivity wise as well. Fuck you all, I'm bi-winning
