Have failed miserably on the diet front. Monday was good, yesterday ate several pastries and ice cream, mostly without realizing. 4 pints at the pub, then every bit of chocolate in the apartment when I got home. Weekend was more or less the same. Meh, it's my last week in France. At least the exercise is going well, Friday I took off (DOMS after Thursday's run was incredible, thighs screamed every time I stood up), apart from that have run / skipped every day. Belly-bulge is much reduced. Have forgot how good you feel after a run, can't believe I waited this long to start exercising again.
Man up jessicasimpson. I'm still doing OK, and results starting to show. Corp event on Wed night I kept it to Diet Coke and water, finger food supplied and so I picked and chose among them based on the "is this shit" principle. Flew to Hanoi bright and early on Thursday, ran 2 laps of Hoan Kiem Lake on arrival (about 2 miles) . Was wandering around the Old Quarter later when I bumped into a mate with a tour cafe, he took me in for lunch and fed me his "Mum's Recipe Bangers and Mash" which I really didn't want, but it was kind of hard to say no...in the end they were crap, and I was glad to have not grown up in his house. Had a dinner meeting at a BBQ place, but didn't eat a whole lot there, and what I did eat was basically not bad. Drank water the whole day other than a mango shake. This morning - hotel breakfast - had pho, yogurt and an apple. The menu offered "fresh apple juice" which I ordered and was clearly "fresh out of the box" apple juice, so i left it alone and drank water and coffee instead. As is typical of VN, carb heavy, which is not ideal, but certainly not fatty ass junk food. I won't have lunch today (flying on a budget carrier that won't feed me) so it'll have to see me through for a while anyhow. Fly back this afternoon, Kent Wang is down visiting, so will take him out and try to not drink... I think I owe me one weights session, 3 bag rounds and one bike ride this week, so will clean that all up tomorrow morning. I may do yoga again tonight as well. Two weeks down, and in a lot better shape already...I think I'll keep up the overkill thing for another week or so, and then resume standard maintenance regime.
