Is there a market for high-end shoes in Toronto? - Page 10

As a Torontonian who would like to get into middle end shoes (AE's or Aldens) I also share your pain. But then again, my pain comes from having a size 14 foot, and Harry Rosen's selection of AE's simply sucks.

We all hope that someone locally (be it Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, whatever) will carry a nice selection of better English shoes so that we can ...

a) go into the store and try them all on,
b) tell the salesman that we'll "think about it", and
c) then know what size to order on Pediwear.

Anyone notice that both Sydney's and Nomad have stepped up their shoe game? Sydney's now carries a range of Grensons and other brands, and Nomad's Alden selection seems to be widening. Of course, they're not cheap. But it's something.

Robert Jones in the TD Centre in Toronto carry Edward Green. They don't have a ton of styles but you could certainly get an idea of fit, and they have EG swatchbooks with all of their leather options if you're thinking of placing a custom order. Their pricing is pretty decent I believe, though they do charge a decent fee for placing a custom order - would probably be best just to order through LeatherSoul or SkyValet.
