Keep using the Selsun Blue until the smell is gone. There are no meaningful differences between regular shampoos that don't have antifungal properties (as Selsun Blue, Nizoral, etc. do). Any of them should work fine for you, once you've eliminated the fungus, or whatever it is that's causing your scalp issues.
