Carharrt Streetwear

Still on the lookout for reasonably priced, tough jeans, I found this:

http://www.carhartt-streetwear.com/

Looks fascinating, and aesthetically seems to be a lot like what some of you guys are wearing already. Anybody have any experience with Carhartt's outside the workplace?

Back when I used to skate, I was a fan of their polos. I haven't had the chance to try on their jeans though.

To my knowledge, Carhartt Streetwear is marketed in Europe, and is a completely different line from the Carhartt sold here in the US.

I won't lie, some of the shirts look very promising, assuming that the fit is not blanket like and the prices are not too high, I'd be pretty interested in seeing them in person. The rest of the outerwear though are boring, and I'd definitely remove the square logo patch on any item that had it prominently displayed.

Is this the Carhartt that's on Yoox?

Crazy. I just don't get it. I didn't even realize this until I read your comment. I had assumed I just missed this site somehow.

Why in a million years would Carhartt think this isn't viable for the US market? There's some good stuff there.

Union LA carries them. Put it that way.

EU carhartt is made on licence by a german skate wear label, so I dont think they have much to do with the EU version. Unfortunatly, alot of it is garbage, but in the last years theyve managed to do some decent "heritage" styles instead of the usual bland skate wear. Im considering a heavy hickory stripe workshirt at the moment.

Carhartt is going to start doing a more street style line of clothes in the US. This was the subject of a meeting in Detroit we were involved in a few months back. They are starting with 3 different fits of jeans in washed denim. There's a slim fit, relaxed fit and a loose fit. Retail is going to be around 45 bucks or so. We are one of the dealers in the country who will be part of the experiment. Scheduled release is Fall 2010.

A slim Carharrt jean sounds great to me - I just hope they use the same denim as their work gear! A dry would probably be too much to hope for, but it'd be neat to have. Thanks for the tip.
