I was looking to take my wife on a trip to Paris around the first of April. I am curious to find out everyone's thoughts of Paris at that time of year.

I've been in May and it's lovely.

April can often be cold and rainy... May/June greatly increases your odds for good "walking around" weather while avoiding the tourist crush of the summer months.

thanks for the advice all. We may push it to the end of April first of May then.

Little known fact: Paris is absolutely empty in August because all the locals go on vacation. I love it. The only downside is that some museums are closed. I'm not sure why everyone loves Paris in the Spring. It rains all the time and all the other tourists are here. But on the other hand, Paris is better than Houston any time of the year.

Some of my fondest memories of Paris include rain.
