Have you been caught red by your partner buying expensive items without telling her?

I have just been caught by my wife making an appointment with Huntsman for bespoke shirts.

The prices were on the email and it went down like a lead balloon.

Are you hidding details of your purchases from your partner or are you brutally honest about them?

It will be interesting to stipulate what kind of prices for a garment lambda you do judge too high to reveal them openly?

Likewise. She just shrugs and tells me we can afford it. I'm just embarrassed by my shopaholic-ism, considering that she hardly buys anything (other than pricey sushi).

What I can't afford she pays. I don't hide purchases but she does get annoyed with the amount of space it takes up as she's quite minimalist in style.

That's what I do too usually... The problem usually arise when I buy stuff at full retail...

I don't have a partner but I do get embarrassed when people (family, friends, colleagues) find out how much I spend on clothes, and try to hide it as much as possible. I figure that my shopping habit might change if I had a partner (unless I marry up, of course.)

We don't live together or share bank accounts, so it's not an issue. She loves my clothes and is impressed that I'm able to find them at such low prices (I've mentioned a few here and there). Nevertheless, she is unaware of the total amount I spend on clothing, which I think would horrify her. I have to do a better job of keeping things on the DL because she's started making comments like "every time I see you, you have a new accessory...

"

I avoid coming home with new stuff, but however careful one is about smuggling the clothes (or shoes!) into the house, there comes a time when one has to WEAR the new item. Eyebrows are always raised. I usually say "oh this was such a great deal on eBay" - which is quite often true - more often it's a great deal from StyleForum but I don't go into that!
