Highly Underrated/Unknown Movies

Saw Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story for the first time last night. It was far from perfect, but it was way better than I had expected. +1 to Galaxy Quest

^ I love Repo Man, but I don't really think of it as being especially unknown. I'm ashamed to admit that I don't think I've seen any of the other movies on that list.

Some are more unknown, some are more underrated. Some are both. I didn't bother to categorize them or I'd have been at it all night. I own all those movies. I would recommend that you netflix a few of them, or whatever it is you kids are doing these days.

IDK if any Coen brothers movie is really unknown, but Barton Fink is definitely underseen. It's also one of their best. The Man Who Wasn't There too. I'll try to think of more tomorrow.

the movie Once is something i ended up watching on a laptop on a long flight (in 2007). it was so good i ended up buying the real dvd just to support the makers of that movie. sometimes piracy actually does help out. because i ended up following the main characters and going to their concerts after.

That was the first one. The Return had Heather Locklear and Sarah Douglas.

Is Darkman considered unknown or underrated?

I dunno. I know and rate it pretty highly.


I just thought of a good one. One of my favorites. Eyes Wide Shut. Not unknown, but I think, serially underrated.

"The Education of Duddy Kravitz"

I think it was one of Richard Dreyfuss's early movies and it's relatively unknown and it's hilarious.

He can, he just usually refuses to do so.

Did you see Bad Liutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans? I liked it a lot, though I am a pretty big Herzog fan.
