Recommendation for carry-on luggage

Hello, I am new to this forum. I travel twice a week for work and I am planning to replace my current carry-on luggage. Which carry-on product and brand would you guys recommend? And from where can I buy one? Budget is not a problem as far as the product is value for money.

I recently was looking to replace a piece of luggage. In the three stores I visited the sales people all recommended Swiss Army. They liked its construction, design, and, especially, its guarantee. With that kind of endorsement, I went with Swiss Army. I've yet to use the luggage, it's still in pristine condition, waiting to get sullied and abused on its first trip.

Why do you abuse your own luggage!?

Cheapest and sturdiest thing you can find, hopefully black and lightweight.

I have the 22 inch carry on, and it works great, used it for 3 years now, has a space in the cover side for shirts, still looks like new.

FWIW it has an expansion area to increase the depth of the case if you don't use it as a carry on, for more luggage space as well.

I prefer Tumi luggage. Not only does it carry and organize my clothes well, but it can stop bullets. Go with a lightweight international size if you're the sort that jots off to Europe for the weekend.

I have been using briggs and riley and tumi for about 10 years now. I have to say that I prefer briggs and riley. tumi looks a little better, b&r is tougher and more reliable. before that, I tried all the mid range - delsey, samsonite, travel pro. I wouldn't ever try them again.

look at a bunch of different configuraitons to find one that fits the way you travel.

But the old samsonite I have is still in pretty good shape so I can't justify throwing it away and getting something new, yet.

I'm kind of disgusted with what I'm hearing about new security protocols, especially for flying international. I understand you are limited to one carry-on now and no personal item (read laptop case.) Apart from being annoying and inconvenient, it is stupid. It smacks of bureaucrats and politicians busily covering their asses. "We're doing very important, very serious things to fight terrorism . . . So don't blame us for whatever goes wrong next!" The attempted Christmas bombing had nothing to do with carry on and I'll be damned if I'm going to stop wearing underwear. I need to cover ******, too.

Should this be true, I may well finally give up, hoist a hearty finger at the airlines and buy the biggest wheeled bag I can check in for free. I am not going to try and pack my laptop, two suits and an extra pair of shoes in a sandwich case because some bone-headed middle-manager at TSA needs to justify his existence by making up pointless new rules that do nothing to enhance the security of anything other than his own job.

BTW, I haven't had to make a long trip since just before Christmas so maybe the new rules aren't as draconian as I think.

Oh, the answer is "Tumi," though Briggs & Riley are quite nice
