the characters are very realistic. i meet people like them every day, and you know what? i don't particularly care for them. that's what made the film true. money is the driving force in this film and as i've gotten older i have fewer and fewer friends who don't talk about money all the time. you were not meant to like these characters, only to identify with them. and i think , to some extent, their situations were universal. i'm talking about the leads here, not the peripheral characters.
