just update and add new posts to the original "official boxing thread".

this reminds me of roy jones jr.... looked unbeatable and ducked some bigger fights.. then lost to tarver by KO.

i have a feeling this could happen to PBF too. plus just one loss instantly downgrades his "greatness".

sugar shane usually raises/lowers his level to the opponent. so in superfights he does great. but less than stellar opponents he stoops to their level and ends up scrambling to catch up.

Has thus fight been confirmed? Last I saw it was still in the works. It would be a big fight. It will be interesting to see the ppv buys if PBF and Pacq fight in the same night.

Doubt it'll be on the same night. Mayweather and Mosley actually pose a threat to each other. Don't think they'll only want one month to train.

The later it is the more time they have for promotion. If Mayweather sells much moar he can bully manny pac around when the negotiations part 2 happen. Shane Mosley already agreed to random blood testing.

Last I heard they wanted some weekend in May, and that UFC had to go from that weekend to another. Mayweather vs Marquez smacked UFC on Sept 19th; a "boring" pure boxer vs a man who had no chance of beating him.

it would be nice to see great boxing AND someone get KTFO between these two. mosley is getting long in the tooth though.

is it true that PBF's hands are going bad?

i remember being an intern at a hospital where Hawaiin Punch's (Brian Viloria) was getting his hands checked and saw his fucked up hands x-rayed. it was pretty much degenerative bone disease already arthritic and brittle (this was all the way back in 2007).

He's been having bad hands for awhile. His only "knockdown" in his career came from when he injured his hand by hitting Hernandez with left hook to the head in the wrong spot. The pain from his hand made him touch the ground.

It was either the Corrales or Corley fight where he injured his hand from brawling but fought through it.

Young floyd wasn't quite as defensive. It's like he switched up styles to preserve his hands.

its something i noticed in his training too. he hits very light on those taped training segments. maybe thats what mosley should do punch PBF's hands or do that thing (using the hardest part of your body!) from the movie Gladiator.. LOL

Yup during the pre-fight with Hatton Floyd confessed that his Dr has been telling him that his whole body was beginning to break down.

Mosley? Get real. Some fighters just don't matchup well with others. Margarito got slaughtered by Mosley, but I don't think that fight was indicative of their talents (look at Mosley's struggles with Forrest.)

Mayweather and Mosley should be well matched and should deliver a good fight, but I expect Mayweather to be far too classy. I think he wins comfortably.

Roy Jones has always been overrated!
But back to the initial post....this was confirmed? Where did you see that?
