Allen Solly Shirts?

I searched for this and found nothing; pardon me for being typical. My Dad picked up a shirt for me today by Allen Solly. He said he just happened across it while buying socks or something at Marshall's. I have a badass Dad. Nobody really ever shops for me but me but he said he just couldn't pass it up, as it was "exactly what I like in a shirt" (high spread collar, slimmish fit, dark blue...good for work). I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with these shirts or knows of the brand? I've never heard of it. How they wear, durability, etc? I'm thinking of adding a good number more to my closet, as it was very inexpensive and, at least initially, it looks to match the quality and fit of others shirts I have paid much, much more for. Thanks, any input appreciated.

I dont know if this is the same Allen Solly as one gets in India. The Indian shirts which I believe are milled and mfd in India are fairly decent quality. The cotton tends to be mid range but quite serviceable and a fairly good value when on sale. Used to workhorse shirts for my dad ... I havent been back since I came to a shirt wearing age.

Allen Solly's are spotted quite often at Marshall. They have cashmere sweaters too. I don't know about their shirt, but their cashmere sweaters are quite mediocre. You can search around here or AAAC, there should be some discussions on them already.

I love the white v necks from Marshalls/TJmax (same co.) I seek them out to wear as my sartoriaLAL summer gear...thicker cotton so much better than hanes and the like.

It's a generic low-to-mid-priced department store brand that has been around for hundreds and hundreds of years. Be sure to thank your dad anyway.

Allen Solly was a very high end co. in Nottingham ,Eng. that supplied cloth for expensive bespoke shirts  etc.  They also manufactured they own stuff in England and then later like a lot of other high end companies like Pringle etc.  made them in British Hong Hong where high quality goods were made. BB still has some items made there but today they're labelled made in China under the new labelling laws.I have a couple of the Solly shirts I never wore that were made in HK and notice that they are all single needle tailoring which only top makers do(even some top makers don't do  single the body and sleeves)

The recent Solly stuff from India is not in the same class and aside from the name bears no resemblance to the original. Much like the mall store A&F having no relation but the name to the real Abercrombie & Fitch that went  out  of business in '72
