Presentation pictures from Milan are finally out. According to the nytimes, Daiki was inspired by early commes des garcons collections.

I like the fabric but what's with the nested cuffs on the Upland?

That might be part of a sleeved cape that goes on top of the upland jacket.

Is this Daiki's last season with WWM?

SS2011 is the last season under his contract. He is working together with WP Lavori to find a successor, though no one has been named.

Might have been mentioned in the past, but why is Daiki leaving?

His contract was only for a set period of time, and I believe they've already renewed it once.

From wwd:
"I grew up admiring and wearing Woolrich, and to come full circle and design for them has been a really great adventure," Suzuki said. "My contract will expire when the spring "˜11 collection is completed, and I feel it is time for someone else to take the reins."

this stuff is very pimp, not that I think I can pull it off but I'd be very interested in at least seeing it in person and trying it on. Woolrich + Daiki is a winning combo and I'd hate to see it fall apart although I can see how the collections can get repetitive after a while.

I like those. Wasn't too keen on the first pics. I could really do with moving away from navy/blue outerwear though.

The maine guide jacket in the black and blue wool is great. Fits nice and feels awesome. The Upland BD shirts are a bit different this season with some stitching and button details. Definitely some nice pieces in there.
