I know they're made in the states (and I've heard it's around LA) but I really have no idea and I'm quite curious.

More info on A&F? Or is that some sort of Abercrombie joke?

I wonder if you could contact RRL w/ this question. Surely customer service would know better than any of us?

Try a few pair on and decide that way. Don't just go with one and assume its the best because everyone says so. That's my advice. Best, mauro PS- I do sell both brands.

I actually just posted this in another thread but I came accross a photo essay that documents denim distressing and there happens to be a huge stack of RRLs in one of the photos. http://www.davidfriedmanphoto.com/bl...m-factory.html

says the factory is in kentucky

but maybe they are sewn somewhere else?

I would expect a lot of cloths that are still made in the USA are made in the south because of lower unionisation rates, especially considering ralph laurens very conservative business practices.

thats interesting, though it could be the case that RRL is made somewhere and distressed somewhere else

More than likely this is the case.

I heard that many 'Made in the USA' labeled clothes are in fact made in United States territories, such as Guam or the Marshall Islands, where labor costs are as low as China's. So, even the concept of 'Made in the USA' is kind of misleading, if you think that your money is instead supporting the mainland USA labor economy.

Sights Denim Systems used to do the distressing for RRL and pretty much everyone else. Bart Sights was pretty much the expert on distressing and they did it all in Henderson, KY. Sights shut down last year though. Bart Sights' daughter moved to Nashville with her husband and opened up Imogene + Willie, an artisan denim maker which cranks out their own stuff as well as selling APC, RRL, and some other brands. They still have some of those inflatable legs and everything, and make their own stuff right there in the store. Its pretty amazing, and if you have a chance to visit, you definitely should. Great people.
