Just in case anyone searches in here to get info about Bose Q15 noise cancelling headphones. I just did a coast-to-coast U.S. trip with them.. .and they are awesome. 1) They make the sound from the crappy "in-flight" headphones they provide change into definitely good sound. 2) They do indeed block out about 85% to 95% of the "outside" noise 3) I swear I felt better, slept better, was in better shape upon arrival than on any other of the (very) numerous other coast-to-coast trips I've taken. Well worth the $300 or so they cost.
