But that DO NOT contain coffee-based liqueurs?

Liqueurs are fine, but as long as they don't contain coffee.

And also, that are relatively easy to make and are popular, no matter what bar or club you go to.

Anyone that is relatively experienced with mixed drinks/bartending want to give me some suggestions?

White Russian, a/k/a Caucasian. This guy makes a hell of one: Edit: Realized you don't want a coffee-based liquer. So no Caucasian. But still... they're great.

Thanks, Naked Yoga. I know White Russians got their popularity after The Big Lebowski.

Do Caucasians taste similar to Bailey's Irish Cream on the rocks? Is the taste comparable?

Flips. Can be made with most any base spirit, sugar/syrup and egg. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flip_(cocktail)

Hah. Nothing that is popular in a bar/club is any good.

Gin, creme de cacao, and heavy cream.

Yeah, Gin Alexander does sound pretty good. Do you think most bartenders would know how to make one if I asked for it?

Just remember the recipe, most if not all bartenders Ive encountered will ask what's in it if they don't know, just be polite.

Bushwacker, recipe from the New Orleans Times-Picayune:

3-4 scoops vanilla ice cream
3 ounces dark rum
1 1/2 ounces light rum
3/4 ounce creme de cacao
3/4 ounce kahlua
ice
dash of 151 rum (optional)

Combine ingredients (except 151 rum) in a blender. Blend until smooth, pour into 2 glasses, and top with a dash of 151 rum. I guess you don't want something with kahlua, but I want to point out the possibility of ice cream based drinks. I don't know whether most bars have ice cream on hand.

I don't think that guy up there ever made Lebowski the drink, he made it himself after he showed him the bar.

For me, I like the Absinthe Suissesse:

2 oz St. George Absinthe
1 oz half-half
.5 oz creme de menthe
.25 oz orange flower water
1 egg white

And over the holidays, I made way too many of these for chicks at dinner parties I went to at friends' homes... The Pink Lady:

2 oz Junipero gin
1 oz half-half
.5 oz grenadine
1 egg white

Make your own grenadine syrup if you can.

Grasshopper: Typically for the ladies 1 part Creme de menthe 1 part Creme de cacao 4 parts Fresh cream. There are many variations on this with vodka and what not. Just curious why these particular kinds of recipes?
