Brugge

Bringing someone there for like an evening and a full day. Haven't been in a while... So any rec on, hmm I dunno actually, I guess I know what I'll do but just in case you guys have a shop/restaurant suggestion, let me know. Don't need hotels and know the usual sightseeing places... Note: the person I'm bringing is a good friend and I don't intend to sleep with her so spare me the candlelight dinners... She travels a lot but mostly has to go to Asia and Africa to "save the whales", she is still not an arrogant asshole.

Shoot, wish I could remember the bar I went to 6 years ago.... I believe it was on the same road as the "Snuffle Sleep-in", smallish place with 600 different beers, and the right glass/coaster for each!

There is a place called 4 Winds right on the Grote Markt off of Hallestraat. It's touristy (but everyplace in Brugge is) but I liked the food. You can sit and people watch on the main square.

There is a great chocolate place too, but I don't know the name - here's how you get there:

From the main square (Markt) take Breidelstraat to the Burg square. It's where the Basilica of the Sacred Blood is located. Walk past the Burg to Blinde Ezelstraat (Blind Donkey Street), make a right, cross over the bridge. Below on your right is a tour boat dock. Right above the dock is a little chocolate store. Go there.

I've only been there 5 or 6 times so I'm no expert. Member pe-ja-per is actually from Brugge, might want to PM him if he's still around.

If the 2 of you like quality beer, a must is 't Brugs Beertje on Kemelstraat. It should not be missed by any serious beer drinker.

The Chocolate museum is another must see imo.

Brugge is a living, modern and romantic city which has something to offer the most demanding visitor. The Church of Our Lady houses a wonderful Michelangelo piece. A MUST SEE!

A walk through the town will yield many wonderful sights.

The chocolate store is The Chocolate Line (http://www.thechocolateline.be/) You can also visit De Halve Maan. It's a small brewery were they brew Brugse Zot-beer, which is quite nice. (http://www.halvemaan.be/) Of course both are touristy but I don't think anything in Bruges isn't.
