Per your suggestions I tried the four-in-hand today. Let me know if I tied it right, it looks a little weird to me but maybe I'm just not used to asymmetrical knots.

The four-in-hand is great with a casual look...but don't let yourself be scared off of a Windsor. The only issue with the one yesterday (IMHO) was that the collar did not have quite wide enough a spread to hold the large, wide knot.
