That may very well be the way you are built, but there is no sense in wearing clothes that accentuate such. You would be served by clothes that offer a better balance. Mike
You're absolutely right, my legs are a bit on the short side for my height. I think you're also correct in saying a more "traditional" rise would better suit my build. I also have to stop shopping at trendy stores, the narrow lapels and low-rise pants are so ubiquitous I'm starting to think they're normal.

As for the tie, pattern aside, it seems to me that skinny ties like this only look good with either very fashion forward fits or retro fits....of which, yours is neither. Quite a step back from your last submission (with the orange tie and a great double FIH knot).
Sadly, I agree. I basically started trying to build a wardrobe from scratch less than a month ago, so I'm still going to have some losers. I'm posting them anyway in the hopes of better differentiating the two. I take some consolation in the fact that I knew it was step back from yesterday's outfit. At least I'm learning. Fun fact: It's actually the same pocket square. It's edged in red on two sides, and blue on two sides. I didn't want to repeat yesterday's PS, so I decided to puff instead of the blue-edged flat fold. I went back to the blue edge. I'm waiting on like 7 ties and 5 pocket squares from various SFers. Having a hard time finding anything I like (and can afford) locally.

What's wrong with the PS?

I hate finding an inch of snow on the ground, but glad it lets me get some more flannel mileage.[/SPOILER]

Really nice, Spoo. You need a sleeker watch here, though.

I like all but the waistcoat. Doesn't work, IMO.

Looks good, Mike.

We need to talk architecture some day, Fred. The fits are nice (always are, and today's is particularly pleasing), but the backdrops steal some thunder.

Casual for me today, featuring the new off-white denim. Not sure what to make of it...

^ Nice casual rig, Acrid. Re: the pocket sqaure, when I looked at the shot I decided I don't like the look of rumpled linen. Personal misgivings, I guess. Phat - great tie to wear at night SPOO WITH CUFFS! w00t w000t!!!!!111! Upr Crust, nice tie, but the square looks like we both chose poorly today. Mike, I like the outfit. Personally I like my OCBDs to have a bit more collar, but yours is tried, trad, & true. Orgetorix, I can't get beyond the vest. Not sure if that's good or bad. Just is. Pwn - nothing wrong with narrow lapels, but if the jacket's too short, it's definitely casual. I wouldn't even bother buttoning the jacket. If a proper looking suit is desired, make sure that when the jacket is buttoned, you don't see any shirt underneath. Banis - sweet suit. Flannel? PandArts - you need new ties

Yeah, this was intended to be a bit more casual. I didn't mean the jacket to come off as formal at all. Honestly, I don't need to wear a jacket or tie at work, so I can dress it down as much as I want (within reason). I still prefer a "proper looking suit" when I can though.

Fred Absolutely fantastic! Like the little flair in the socks too...not too much, but just enough.

Acrid I'm with ya...not sure what to think about the off-whites but the top half is very nice.

P.S. - Fred, I checked out your website...Awesome! Those fossil countertops are ridiculous.

Not at all! Your style and your language both tend toward the baroque, and you do it well. It's just not my norm.

Hmm. I didn't think this was such a fail, but I'll keep it in mind for next time.

Oh, I missed it. No problem, glad you like it.

I like the elements of today's fit. That is a cool club collar. I think if the shirt was a lighter color, less busy pattern, it would have paired better.

Mike

I haven't owned a pair of white or off white jeans since 1988, but I think I might just go out and get a pair.
