The shirt sleeves are exactly where I like them. I can't stand for the shirt cuff to cover any part of my hand. The coat is a thinnish cotton, and as soon as I bend my arms, it wrinkles up, effectively shortening the sleeve. I didn't know about this characteristic when I bought it or had the sleeves taken up. Lesson learned now, though.

Yeah, that helps. Thank you, Threadbearer!

I don't like the fit of the trousers. I am not sure if they fit you, but if they do they look very dated.

Agreed. You shouldn't try to match the tie with any of the colors in that coat. It strikes one as way too matchy-matchy.

Navy blue would work fine.

Thank you kind sir. I’m trying to get my SC game up. I got a couple over the last few weeks. One fits ok… the other insanely small even though they were both advertised about the same size.. Maybe you could answer a question for me. When speaking alterations to say a SC or suit for that matter, is it better to start with a larger size garment and work your way down… or start with a smaller size. I don’t personally know any tailors to ask this question of so I’m just throwing it out there to see what bites. I'm really just trying to figure out if and which one of the SC's I will decide to have work done on.

I don't know who made it, but it's a Royal Engineers regimental. NYR is really rockin it at it's best with a gun club SC. I have a similar one and find it pretty boring with most suits.

Im no tailor, but in experience, always better to go bigger and then let them form it to your body. Everytime I went smaller and had to go bigger, it was never right.

I'm thinking a moderate spread, certainly nothing as wide as the RLPL Keaton collar.

It's better to start with a SC that fits you in the shoulders and has high armholes. The rest is easy to fix.
