Navy blue would work fine.

Thank you kind sir. I’m trying to get my SC game up. I got a couple over the last few weeks. One fits ok… the other insanely small even though they were both advertised about the same size.. Maybe you could answer a question for me. When speaking alterations to say a SC or suit for that matter, is it better to start with a larger size garment and work your way down… or start with a smaller size. I don’t personally know any tailors to ask this question of so I’m just throwing it out there to see what bites. I'm really just trying to figure out if and which one of the SC's I will decide to have work done on.

I don't know who made it, but it's a Royal Engineers regimental. NYR is really rockin it at it's best with a gun club SC. I have a similar one and find it pretty boring with most suits.

Im no tailor, but in experience, always better to go bigger and then let them form it to your body. Everytime I went smaller and had to go bigger, it was never right.

I'm thinking a moderate spread, certainly nothing as wide as the RLPL Keaton collar.

It's better to start with a SC that fits you in the shoulders and has high armholes. The rest is easy to fix.

Haha, I was guessing that would happen- the two shoes I have posted until now are the only two pairs of dress shoes I own, other than a terrible cheap pair of black Target shoes my mother bought me when I was like 14.

I guess I'll just refrain from posting my shoes from now on, since they've been called ugly every time I've posted them, at least until I get some new ones, which should be very soon.. I've got my eye on some Allen Edmonds that I can get for 50% off at work...

Thanks for liking the top bit though. Just bought that blazer quite recently, very comfortable and fits me well.

Also, love the PS on your latest fit, Threadbearer. Love the blue and orange!

Socks such as these require a lot of courage to wear. Quite a statement.

fit and color combination are the main downs on this. Also a T-Shirt does not make it for me.

Hehe, I know. I love them though. I hate boring socks. Match them to your trousers or your shoes? Booooring! Match em to your tie, shirt or suit!

Here's my fit from yesterday, went to town in this. Got pretty hot so I took off the jacket early on though.

(the purple in the socks here is actually blue, not sure why it came out as purple-ish on my camera... damn shitty camera phone!!! )

Also, notice I sewed the button onto the blazer! I'm really tempted to just keep it at one button, I kind of like it with only one.....

I'd appreciate any critique for these fits, esp. the two different jackets below - I am aware of few basic issues but am wondering if I am just being too OCD.. This is supposed to be kind of "conservative business wear".

a)

b)

Taking quality photos is really proving to be even harder than I thought, my apologies.. Must improve lightning next time.

second jacket. fit looks pretty damn good, if a little short. I wouldn't mention it since that style is "in" now, but you said conservative business wear.... nice tie though, what's the make? if you don't mind me asking!
