Great look Upr_Crust. I always wondered what you would look like without the Lenin stache here at SF and Ask Andy Forum.
I guess a philosophical question lingers in my head. Is it better to look iconic or look good without any striking features? Mmmm....
The glasses frames are about as iconic as I am going to get at present. As for your philosophical question, I no longer qualify for the former, and I don't know if I have qualified for the latter - when I figure it out, I'll call you

That's why you should only listen to objective criticism (e.g. the jacket is ill-fitting).
I have to say that contributing to this thread is really making me look at what I wear and how I wear it. Which is in turn making me think about both of the above. For example, my pants here have by themselves convinced me I [edit: 1) need to develop a better collection of pants and 2) need to suck it up and learn to iron.] However, barring that, how is the shirt/sweater combo? edit: I removed these because, quite frankly, they suck. In the future, I think I will practice more discretion.
Titsworth, stand back a bit and observe the clothing posted in this thread. Take some time to notice some points on fit, color balance, and overall aesthetics. The cargo pants and hiking boots are completely opposite of the Brooks Brothers-esque top half - it is asymmetrical. I would actually burn the pants (I last wore cargos in high school, I think, and maybe while chopping wood in a forest). The sweater is at least a size large, and I bet the shirt is too. Basically, I would try to start over.

Very cool. Thanks. I have been trying to do just that. When I looked at the whole thing before hand I had exactly the same thought about the pants. However, apart from that, I've seen what seem to be similar combinations elsewhere in the thread. I posted partly because of that, and partly because I want to know what separates what they're doing from what I'm doing. If this was inappropriate, then by all means, I can remove my post. It's difficult to know otherwise though.
You look much younger Crust. Anyway, I have a feeling Nii's gonna say something about the quarters of your jacket being closed, if I've got him somewhat figured out.

Perhaps because it's been a long time, but this is one of the best I've seen you post. Like how the tie very faintly picks up the shirt. Suit fits great.
There is a great thread here about closed quarters. They enjoy a rabid following, and due to their history, are perfectly acceptable. The quarters of this jacket, however, are too closed. Only the extremely thin can get away with it, and even then, it's not the most flattering. Also, the lapels splay out like a ). Barring your stance, I can only assume the jacket is too tight, which reveals your shirt ends. Nice PS, tho

That suit may have a Shelf Life, but you wear it well!

The socks are fine. There is nothing wrong with the suit, either, and the tie is great. But I have to say that the shirt - & I can't think of any other way to say this - looks cheap. Perhaps it's the whimpy stripe; it looks like it was an afterthought....A bengal stripe would look very refined. Regal, even. Just a thought.

The first time you did this, I let it pass, but now I've got to say something: stop quoting your own picture. It's tacky. PS I like the clean-shaven look. You dropped a few years. Glasses are - no joke - pretty cool. Good choice.
Like at an upscale marina. This white and blue looks simply good.
The flower was a good choice. Other certainly disagree, but I think it makes the outfit interesting.
Simply nice. Very nice.
Wow, that are impressive pictures. Well done.

Have had my first "flying lesson" today, well, just checking whether I like it or not. So far, it's not bad but it felt unreal. You're sitting in this tight, loud, shaky thing and everything around is not "touchable." Like in a simulator.
Steering this thing was okay, more like a ship.
These Persols were made for flying...
So far, there's not much new to see here (the sweater some of you dislike, the well-known SC, etc.) except the PS: Handmade by myself yesterday, I'm so proud...
Jan, this really looks amazing. I'd love to try this myself some time! Have fun flying around!
I really like the style, o/o! But could you or someone else please tell my, why the tie (has to?) do such a wave on your chest? Not only when sitting down, but also when standing?
Fred49: Awesome style and amazing chairs! Morgan: Terrific shots on that vespa.
