Don't! The socks are great. As well as the whole outfit. Who made that awesome tie?

I was just thinking the same thing. It's a cool photo but you can barely see any details of what he is wearing in the photo at all.

[quote=upr_crust;4205431]As per the advice of several of you in this forum (and others more closely linked to my real life), I made a change to my glasses frames (I needed a new prescription anyway - aging does that to a person), and also decided, with the new style of glasses, that the facial hair did not "fit".

Hence the different person you see before you in today's posting.

Also, taking criticism from last week (Friday's suit was thought to be too boxy - a conclusion with which I wholeheartedly concurred - it's seeing the tailor today), I decided to see if my most fitted suit would still fit me. From the photos, I think that the chest is a shade tight, but the fact that I can don it at all is gratifying (I bought it at the low point for my weight in recent times, and it's been various forms of too tight every since).

For your entertainment, then (possibly) . . .

Great look Upr_Crust. I always wondered what you would look like without the Lenin stache here at SF and Ask Andy Forum.

I guess a philosophical question lingers in my head. Is it better to look iconic or look good without any striking features? Mmmm....

The glasses frames are about as iconic as I am going to get at present. As for your philosophical question, I no longer qualify for the former, and I don't know if I have qualified for the latter - when I figure it out, I'll call you

If it any comfort, my chin is cold now, in its hairless state, outside, and you are not entirely alone in missing the Van Dyke, though possibly you are in these fora - votes were vociferously in favor of clean-shaven. If only I could dress to that sort of acclaim .

That's why you should only listen to objective criticism (e.g. the jacket is ill-fitting).
