I think you did right just as you are... but you probably knew that already.

Other than the small bunch of cherries you appear to have stuck in your lapel buttonhole, this is a really nice combination. I don't like tasseled loafers, but that's a personal prejudice; colour-wise they tone fine with the rest.

Lovely overall effect. but crying out for a solid tie. That one's too busy / has a pattern too close in scale to that of the shirt, IMO.

Very nice Greg - among all the great pics that show up on this thread you and Threadbarer and the late lamented TC Houston probably have the style closest to that which I would like to emulate. Slim cut classic. I am on the hunt for a summer weight POW, and while I am slowly coming around to the possibility of breaking my prejudice against tan shoes. Your combo with that rust coloured tie works very well.

Work outfit, thought I'd try a 3 button...







Have to have the coat altered a bit, taken in on the sides and hem the sleeves. Plus my shoes need to be shined. Other than that I think I look alright considering the whole outfit cost under 100 dollars. Any suggestions ar loved!

O/O - for the first time in recent memory, I'm not sure about the interplay between the tie and ps. Love the suit on you though.

Gregaz - For some reason, the heavy tie doesn't seem to work with the fabric of the suit....however, I love the color interplay and the items seperately.

Navi - It could be the angle but ,that jacket looks too long on you and really shortens your legs (hell, it could also be...your legs). I think the 3-button makes the effect even more drastic.

Yeah the jacket is a little bit long, but its mmostly the angle making my legs look short. Jacket needs work but I enjoy this shirt and tie combo a lot.

I tried going without the collar stays today, and now that I see the picture, I conclude that was not the right call.

Yes - I'm enjoying SW&D - they're pretty open minded on style and give good honest feedback.


2" off the waist through so far, aiming for another inch. It's not been quite as tough as I feared, although the last inch is much tougher than the first one

The only problem is my suit trousers have largely gone from over-snug to over loose. Trying to decide whether to see if adding brace buttons would be an option or whether to get the waistband taken in.
