HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part II - Page 2351

[quote=upr_crust;4205431]As per the advice of several of you in this forum (and others more closely linked to my real life), I made a change to my glasses frames (I needed a new prescription anyway - aging does that to a person), and also decided, with the new style of glasses, that the facial hair did not "fit".

I can relate to the changes with the eyesight, weight, and the whole age thing as I am quickly on my way to 50. I mentioned my recent buzz cut that I had to do as I felt like I was starting to have a comb over thing going on and I was very depressed about it for a while. I am having trouble lately finding the right clothes for my age and where I work, which is casual to say the least. Inspired by WAYWTII, I have been donning a tie and SC, and even an occasional suit which freaks my co-workers out. I kind of wish I had to wear a suit every day so my only dilemma might be color matching. Anyway, just wanted to let you know you weren't alone in your need to make some changes.

Perhaps a slightly better picture today, though still not a good pose nor a full shot.

Looks good UC, both the frames and fresh shave, you look like a new man..

Wow! upr_crust, love the new look! Which frames did you end up going with?
upr_crust I think this is a GREAT improvement! The fit of the suit, the new "look"...I applaud the cajones it takes for such a big change!

I like the 3-piece and what you're wearing with it, but a stronger tie would make it "pop" a bit.

As someone who had a combover until it became patently absurd (I gave it up at the age of 38 - I am now 55), I can recommend just baring the bald pate and go with it. Also, if you've stubble where the hair is not growing - shave it - there is nothing worse than a little hair (though you alluded to doing the buzz cut - that is also another solution - whatever works for your face and head).

Best of luck - as you can see, there are alternatives to looking good whatever your tonsorial "deficiencies".

Thank you, thank you, and thank you. As it happens, the frames are Giorgio Armani - of all of the tortoiseshell frames at my optician's, these worked the best with my face.

As for my "cojones" - the suit rack still has suits in a variety of fits (loose to tight) - will need to work through them to tweak them for my current shape (which varies - arghhhh). As for the loss of facial hair, it's still sinking in, but with the response so far, it seems that it was the right move.

I love that hat! What and where?

someotherstyle - Very nicely done....however, in the second picture it appears you're missing a sleeve button and your tie is doing something funky...

- look what the cat dragged in. that cream silk will excite Foo.
- a TC, JP Hardy or Alan C post would also be in order to continue this uptick
