That said, I have a humble request. Can we draw & quarter the next motherfucker who refers to "sprezzatura," then burn the pieces and dance on the ashes?

If you take the trouble to learn to spell it, you probably don't have it.

I'm guessing you have to tie it very loosely in the first instance and then tighten in place?

I've also tried and failed: have at least one tie I'm fond of but it's too long to wear in anything other than a windsor so a useful way of using a bit of extra length. Don't mind half windsors but find the full a wee bit OTT.

It's unanimous, then. Given a little more time yesterday morning, I would have talked myself out of the better PS.

I think this would be a be a really nice fit if you either switched to a knit tie or went without one. If you went sans tie, though, you'd probably need to add a slightly more colorful shirt.

Would love to have a 'challenge' of everyone posting a pix or 2 of your 'closets'. Need to get some new ideas for redoing mine over and need/want to maximize space better..Need to desparetly do mine over as I need more space.

Well, I'm going to be the lone outlier. The suit clearly fits your very well indeed. But I feel that the proportions of it on you do not flatter. The longer lapel line that would result from slightly lower buttons and less overlap would, I think, flatter you better. Oh well, someone has to be the dissenter! Three pretty ties, posted consecutively and in increasing order of eccentricity, which made for a nice mini-essay. The third seems like it would be more naturally at home with a summery outfit than wintry one, but the experiment is intriguing, if not entirely successful IMO. I seem to recall seeing it somewhere previously, so not an original thought of mine I'm afraid. Not sure if here on SF or in a photo elsewhere. I think it could make sense if there are two colours you wanted to highlight, and you happened to lack an ideal single square. They'd have to be quite small squares though rather than the usual full-size ones, in order to actually fit!

Day Two of the new camera - no flash, but adjusted shutter settings, to relieve some of the murk of yesterday's photos.

We will see if today's attire falls within the orthodoxy of SF groupthink - though, as a trend, I cannot guarantee that it will last .

Upr_crust, I've kept an eye on you since you moved over from AAAC. Although I think you need to change quite a bit to fit in with the SF gemeinschaft, I really think a new pair of glasses would improve and refresh your look wonders.

Going back to 800 ISO is an improvement. But the white balance...

If you shoot in RAW you can change the white balance on your computer after you take the pics, so you can experiment with the settings.
